Bless you, aknz!! I am a new Farmers Insurance agent and agency owner... the training doesn't come with tech support!! I googled the error message, clicked on the link, did both of your recommendations (Canon MX420 All-In-One) and voila!! Lifesaver, thank you so very much!!

Recently, I cannot send faxes from my 426, but can receive them. "Tx cancelled: Rx fax info mismatch" is the message. It happens with different recipients

Two Issues:

1. The Transmission Speed of the MX860 may be too fast.
Solution: on FAX Menu go to Settings>Device Settings>FAX Settings>Transmission Settings >"TX start speed" and change to 14400 or lower (14400 worked for me).

2. The recipient FAX machine may be receiving by a different number than the one you dial. This may occur if you dial a free-calling no.
Solution: Go to Transmission Settings as above>"Check RX fax info" and turn it to OFF. This disables the mismatch issue.

Hope this helps. aknz

Turning off the Check RX fax info was the solution for me. I was trying to fax documents to a large mortgage company using an 800#. Apparently that number switches over to a number for the actual receiving fax machine. That swicth over caused a default and stopped transmitting. I imagine you don't need to disable this function if the number is a direct number. Anyway, thanks for the solution. It was not mentioned in the online manual for the MX340 but it worked like a charm.

This worked for me too, although I found another problem. In some cases, the receiving fax apparently would not pick up before my machine timed out. I fixed this by adding a 9-second pause after the number so the machine would sit on its hands for a brief spell before it attempted the handshaking bit.

    It worked for me!

Agreed....tried all of the above, same situation with mortgage info, turning off check RX did not work, but incresing pause time seemed to doo the trick.

MXPixma340: decreasing the speed to below 14400 did not work for me. Turning off the RX completely did. Faxing IRS

#2 did it !!! Thanks very much!!

  • peter_gammon Sep 10, 2014

ALSO...if you have ability to change ECM (error correcting mode), then turn this to *off* - since most calls are now via the Internet, ECM causes problems.
