Question about Symphonic WF802

VCR stops, ejects, eats tapes

We have a Symphonic WF802 DVD/VCR combo. The DVD player works fine, but the VCR has quit working. When we put a tape in, it gets stuck midway, the VCR shuts off, and the tape gets stuck. It won't play at all. Occasionally the video will make it all the way in and then the tape will come out and get stuck when ejected. Any guidance on how to fix this so we can play a video again?

We can put a VCR tape in and it will begin to play for a brief 3-5 seconds and then it will turn itself off. What could be the problem?

I also have a 19" Symphonic tv vcr combo which

The problem is with the vcr section, it is stuck in eject mode thinking there is a tape. This a mechanical problem that might be repairable. The tv and vcr share some of the same circuits, you can try resetting the tray in the out position as if it fully ejected the tape. Now if this does not work it means you have a gear timing problem or bad sensor.

Hello, My vcr tape will not eject and it was working fine an hour ago. Do you know what the problem is?

Have looked through the manual Sylvania DVC-800C DVD Player / VCR Combo and there is no mention of a tape not ejecting. if its under warranty give the dealer a ring. If dvd`s stick and nothing more can be done then have tried the belo. http://www.ehow.com/how_2036282_remove-dvd-player.html

Vcr player eats tapes and will not eject casset tape

It sounds like either the take up spool isn`t turning because the motor has failed or there`s something inside stopping the spool from turning or there may be something sticky around the skirt of the video head assembly. All I can suggest is remove the top casing and place a tape in the machine and watch what`s happening, Hopefully, you may find a child's toy or something similar under the cassette or the deck. Those labels that you place on tapes were notorious for coming off and finding it`s way into the mechanism. Ian

VHS tape plays for a few seconds and automatically ejects

My guess would be dirt on the rollers inside the VCR. They sesnse a jam and ejct. Try a VCR cleaner (with cleaning fluid) and see if that helps.

Tape wont eject

Veri8fy that the belt on the side of the VCR mechanism is intact. If it is, then check that the motor works, by appying 12 volts to it,with the belt disconnected. If the motor works, it might be that your mode switch needs cleaning, and that takes some fancy unsoldering and soldering.

Tv vcr combo

The best way I can think of is to REMOVE the rubber band that loads the tape into the transport unit.Be KILLFULL (careful) the band is right next to the B+ (power supply) or the A\C 120volt
( and if u can find the replacement rubber bands, buy 2 kits)

VCR eating tapes when attempting to rewind

VCRs are so cheaply priced these days that it's not worth the time and trouble to fix them or have them repaired. If you fix one worn or slipping belt, another problem isn't far behind.
