Before inserting the tray, check inside for paper jammed there is a sensor their if block by a jammed of paper it will display LOAD PAPER. Removed paper jamm or check if there is a broken parts (actuator) near photo sensor.
try to run Maintenance from windows control panel, also open all compartments on teh printer and look to see if there is a fragment of paper stuck there.
Slide the paper-width guide to its widest position, and then pull out the paper tray extender.

Insert
plain white paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and
the print side down. Slide the paper forward until it stops.
Figure 3: Insert paper into the product CAUTION:
Make sure the product is idle and silent when you
load paper into the input tray. If the product is servicing the print
cartridges or otherwise engaged in a task, the paper stop inside the
device might not be in place. You could push the paper too far forward,
causing the product to eject blank pages.
Slide the paper-width guide inward until it stops at the edge of the paper.
Figure 4: Adjust the paper guides NOTE:
Do not overload the input tray; make sure the stack of paper fits within the input
tray and is no higher than the top of the paper-width guide.
when you inserting the paper make sure paper is dry and not stcik to another just shake the bundle and suffel it then insert and one more thing when you inserting the paper not deep inside just insert and stop it when you feel any resistance .and try to print something. If it is print then well otherwise you have to show it service center.
Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!

try freeing up the paper before you insert it into the printer. an easy way to do this so to "fan" the paper by holding one end and letting each paper on the other end be released one by one.
another thing is that you may be inserting the paper too much inside the paper tray. try inserting the paper slowly and stop at the first slightest notch you feel
your getting a 383 paper jam, find paper in two different places.
See if it's a duplex related problem. print single sided documents, if that works, try printing two sided documents (it'll be the duplexer) if it only fails while printing duplex.
Also, check the back door. Make sure the back exit tray is closed all the way.
You can also have a paper jam in the duplex unit (open the front door), the duplex unit slides out the front. You can easily remove the duplex unit and run the printer without it.
clear the paper jam load paper straight before you turn it on because when you turn it on whith out paper in it it automatically starts aligning the paper thats why make sure paper is straight load it in before you turn it on some printers are like that espicaially the new ones
If it?s always in the same spot then you can narrow your search for the problem.
-Look where the leading edge of the paper is getting jammed up for an obstruction, especially if the paper is folded in an accordion fashion. Look closely, I?ve fixed many a paper jam by pulling out a corner of a page stuck in a recess.
-If the paper path is clear then the next thing I would suspect is the paper you are using.
-Try new paper that isn?t bowed, folded or curled. Before inserting into the paper try flex it back and forth along the width and length, then insert making sure to slide the two side guides and the back guide until they fit snugly against the stack of paper.
-Other things to check are the rollers where the leading edge of the paper is getting stuck. Make sure they are clean.
-Also make sure your toner cartridge is inserted into the printer correctly. If you have a spare try using that, sometimes cartridges can drag on the paper.
