Refrigerant r134a is the type of freon in the unit, not a model #. probably the wrong type bulb. you can't put a regular bulb in it. it has to be an appliance bulb. they have a thick coating on it to endure extreme temps.

Where is the drain located on Frigidaire model r134a? is it the hole on the bottom freezer side?

R134A is not the model number. This is located inside the freezer on a white sticker on the left or right wall. Anyways, the drain is going to be located inside, behind the back wall of the freezer on the floor, directly below the Evaporator coils where all of the "cold" in your entire box is created. If you're referring to a refrigerator, there should be an aluminum tray/pan that all the defrost water drains down into. Sometimes they just freeze over & the hole becomes plugged w/ice. Hope this helps. Tips appreciated. Have a great weekend :)

No cold air when 90 degrees outside

This sounds to me like the refrigerant in your system needs to be topped off, especially if it is blowing cold air, but just not cold enough. I I would recommend taking it to a local independant service station or dealership. If you should venture to try this repair yourself, you should be able to find R134a refrigerant at your local Wal Mart.

We tried adding freon to our 98 Montero AC unit but when we attempt to it says the it is at full pressure and will not let us add any but it is only blowing hot air with the ac on, so we do not think it...

Hi, if you have full pressure (40-50 PSI on low pressure side with engine running A/C set to maximum and blowing) you have enough pressure, but there is air in the system which degrades the refrigerant leading to no cold air. To remedy this, you must completely discarge the system and refil with new R134a which has the compressor/system oil added to it.
To discharge the system, shut off motor, attach your filler hose to low pressure valve and allow system to drain. (squeeze handle if you have that type filler hose) Allow it to drain until no sound of escaping air is present. Be careful not to have the end of hose facing you or others, wear gloves and have some shop rags laid down, pointing nozzle toward rags, that stuff can damage paint and skin and may be cold when escaping. After system has completely drained, start the refil process with engine running, A/C on maximum, blower on full. After about 1/2 of the first can of R134a or 1 full can, your compressor should kick on. Continue refilling with 3-4 cans total (about 3 LBS total) until you have a reading of 45 or so PSI. After each can, allow refrigerent to cycle through the system about 3 minutes to obtain an accuret pressure reading. Pressure is relavent to outside temperature also, optimumly the ambient air temp. outside vehicle should be between 72 and 80 degrees F. for proper reading. That should get you blowing cold air again!

The air works great when it works. Then all the sudden it quits cooling, the compressor shuts off, and dont come back on. It seems to happen when it gets above 75 outside.

You will have to look into this further but I wouldn't rule out a High Pressure Cut-off Switch in the AC system. One thing you might have on your side is Newer vehicles run R134a refrigerant which is not an Ozone depleter like R12. that makes things easier for you to replace with the help of your local auto parts store. You can get R134a and air conditioner condenser oil in One and it is easy for you to put in. So first off you might want to make sure you are not low on R134a/not too full either, if the system does not leak and is to proper proportion of R134a the I would look at the High pressure cut off switch. (does it get extra cold before shutting off?)

My air conditioning is not blowing any cold air.

It shoud have R134a, I would use a recharge kit. If you have a slow leak this will only be a temporary fix. They usually sell a kit with a dye inside the can, If you use that you should be able to locate where the leak is.

Front a/c blows warm, rear a/c blows cold, whats up with that ? thanks, brian

Front a/c is a differnt unit than the rear, check for any gas leaks on the lines located on the engine bay, you may have a clogged line filter.
check for proper refrigerant use, r134a or r12.

No cool air when idling..

The refrigerant level may still be to low or the compressor is not working properly.
