Try to format it on the PC?

If this is a DVR then check with weeknees( not sure of spelling), they rebuild dvrs and there is a special type format,not sure what it is.

Go into the menu and remove the scheduled time recording

The PVR h140 works on mpeg1 or mpeg4 format. If you need to convert avi files for example you will need a third party conversion programme such as Nero7 or similair free programmes.
