If you have 12v at fuse and the ground is hooked up then the unit died. or if you have a removabe face its not contacting

I dont buy the theory that it was corroded by salt. I have a jeep. I keep the top off. I live at Pismo Beach. There is fog almost every day. I have a unit with a removable face. I have never had a issue in the five years it has been installed.. So with that in mind unplug the face and test the brass connectors inside on the stereo part . If you have power to anyone of them you will need a new stereo. If you dont and you have power at the fuse you will need a new stereo. Also the back of the stereo should have its own fuse, This is in addition to the inline one. Usually but not always.

Dont assume it has power. You need to test for battery voltage. A voltage drop can occur with dirty connections. You need to test where the ground is hooked, then hook up to battery voltage. then do the same with the power. Test at the fuse and groundat the battery. If one test is different from the other you have a voltage drop. ( dirty connection somewhere)

The air on the road compare to the air in you boat are much different. car stereos are not design to install in the boat, it can easily get corroded due to salt

I agree with your comment, thanks anyway. the bottom line is just poor connections somewhere in the system. it's just a matter of finding it.

Engine blows fuse under cover almost every time I turn it off. Runs fine until I turn it off again.

Hi Bill:
Working from logic only, the reason a fuse blows is that it is getting excessive current. If the fuse blows when the motor is turned off, it would seem possible that the switch is not functioning properly.
I would try to isolate the switch and check it with a continuity meter to see if it is defective.

I would suggest not operating it and turning off the main breaker or pull the fuse for the unit, this could be a fire hazzard I would get a service tec to check it out. It sounds like a broken neutral. I do not know the unit so this is just a guess.

I have a yamaha R-V703 receiver and it has worked well until today. It was turned up loud and all of a sudden kicked off. Now every time it is turned on and the volume knob is turned it turns the unit off....

Make sure the speakers are connected correctly. Something inside overloaded and could have blew a fuse or is in protection mode. Before taking the unit in for servicing or attempting to opening it, I suggest checking that the speaker wires are connected correctly to your receiver in the back. Even one loose strand of speaker wire touching the steel panel will shut your receiver off when the volume is turned up. If that isn't the problem, then try to unplug all the speakers and test it again to confirm that the speakers are not preventing the receiver from functioning properly. Lastly, if no success, wait a while until the unit cools then try again without speakers connected.

Clarion M5675 won't turn on

Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.

No sound.

Disconnect speakers one by one and reset the unit each time. If the speaker is blown, or the wires are frayed, it will shut down the internal amp. Also check the fuse in the back of the radio first, it should be near the wire harness. Power cycle the unit as well, unplug it from the power source, plug it back in. Hope this helps.
