There should be a set screw that you can tighten in order to adjust the height return. If you do not have anything like this, perhaps your record is raised too much. How thick is your rubber mat? Do you have any other mats sitting on top of this?

SOURCE: Pioneer PL-670 record rejects continually

Are the record size tabs sticking up through the turntable platter cover? They sense the size of the record being played and adjust the run out distance for either 45 or 33 rpm records.

SOURCE: tonearm on turntable wont stay on record

Remove the motor assy and you will see the main nylon large gear, it had 2 metal cams under the one screw on top of it. One is the start cam and it must slide freely on top of the other one cam. Over time the grease binds up under the start cam and it doesnt move back in as the motor moves the nylon cogs around and so it start over gain and again. Degrease and lightly lube the metal cam so it moves freely by using your finger, reassemble and test.

How do I access tone arm belt and motor on a Pioneer PL-L30 turntable?

Try lifting up the turntable mat. You should see a hole. Note how it fits before removing the belt.

How can I stop the tone arm from returning too early on smaller records?

The adjustment for auto return position is normally at the tone arm base on the left side under a rubber grommet. Use a flat blade screw driver to move adjustment screw, then test. Keep fine tuning until arm lifts at desired position. Cheers John. Stylus City NZ

Tone arm keeps returning to rest on Crosley CR249

Hi, Try this. with it turned off. Lift tone arm across a record to the run out groove and set it down. Now power up and hopefully it will reset itself. In all honesty I would sell it and get a decent old school player. John. Styluscity.com

Tone arm will not move over on self-start unless

Hi, they are not an auto start model turntable. To start lift tone arm off rest and move into position at start of record. It will automatically lift and return to rest as well as shut off at end of record. cheers john ,, Styluscity.com

I need to purchase a new belt for Turntable PL-Z82/PL-Z92

I'm not familiar with that particular model but most turntable belts are one standard size. Try this website http://www.mcmelectronics.com/search.aspx?K=turntable%20belt
They also have a kit of various lengths cheap.

I've got a Pioneer PL-300 turntable bought around the mid-80's. It hasn't been used much in years, especially due to a problem with the tone arm lifting up before the end of a record (45 rpm) has finished...

Hi Mikey. I shure hope you have solved your problem by now, but for everyone else, I woud like to shead some light on this matter. What you need to do is to adjust the auto-return lever that is located between the center of the platter and the tonearm, underneath the plastic cover. To do so, you first need to remove the platter so that can reach the adjustment-screw.
This is how the lever looks like in my PL-300X and it should look the same for you. I've marked the adjustment-screw that can be reached through a hole under the platter.

and this is what it looks like with the cover on:

Hope this can solve your or anyone elses problem.  Ciao / Albin
