Question about Canon LV-LP11 Projector Lamp for LV-7345, LV-7350, LV-735

1 Answer

Blue spot on screen

I have a Hitachi PJ TX10 projector.
The screen has a large blue spot. it is more noticible on a dark background but you can see a definite blue tinge on someones face if it is in the centre of the screen.
Is this a fault with the projector or the lamp?

There are light filters at each of the 3 lcd panels in the optical engine with a coating on them that determine the color. one of them (most likely the blue) is burnt from the heat and needs replacement. it could also be the fly-eye lens (whick evenly distribute the light) has burned as well. either way, it's very involved to replace, if you can get the parts. it's easier to have it sent in to get repaired.

Where is the air filter on the Hitachi pj-tx10? I dont know how it looks?

it's on the right hand side of the projector when you are looking at the projector from the front. The plastic grille just unclips and the filter is inside.

blow the dust out with canned air. if you can focus on the dust, chances are it's on the first lens inside the projector.

Our PJ-TX10 projector is turning itself off

First, to rule out true overheating, clean any dust filters and air-access areas. There might be enough dust on the filter to cause a gradual build-up of heat which could trip one of the temperature sensors in the unit. I clean my projector once a week--There might be a cooling fan going bad--after a while, heat causes the fan motor to start to drag and slows down the air flow. Also, there might be a temp sensor that is shutting down the unit prematurely.--Rick
