A practical way to accomplish this is to take your Alessi watch to a jeweler for a demonstration of how to open it correctly. You then may be able to persuade the jeweler to replace the battery for a reasonable sum.

You will need to pop off the back of the watch. A razor blade knife works best as you can slide the thin blade under the cover and work it off. Once off, you will see the battery and be able to match it up at any radio shack store. Joe.

I bought mk-5019 yesterday. I wore it for a couple of hours. Today I noticed it somehow started changing that golden colour on the bracelet, so i really don't like it now. It looks like it's a fake watch...

unfortunately, it can be. its not gold, only a finish. and if you have a chemical in your skin that reacts to the chemicals in the gold tone finish it can wear off very quickly. Do you also get that green around your finger from a fake ring? or black on your earlobe hole from earrings? return the watch to where it was bought.

How to do you open the case to change the battery?

Take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for the small cost saving in doing it yourself.
