Question about Haier HSB03 Compact Refrigerator
I was knocking some of the ice out of the frig and all of a sudden it sounded like I sprung a leak of something.
The problem is that the fridge is in my bar, and I can not take it out to replace it.
Any idea what could have broke on this?
I have really bad news for you. You have done on of the most famous No No's and that is, you have punctured the evaporator coil allowing all of your refrigerant to leak out. Some claim to be able to patch the evaporator but I have in 30 years only seen couple of repairs done that lasted long enough to justify the expense of doing the repair. Some models have replaceable evaporator coils but this will cost as much or more than to purchase a new appliance. If your frig contains R134a and moisture enters the hole in the evaporator either in drop form or moisture in the air (if the hole is open it will allow moisture into the system) the moisture contaminates the oil in the compressor and throughout the system. I personally do not recommend spending good money to attempt repair.
Sorry but it is true, supertechks
If someone tells you they can repair it and will warranty it for long enough to suit you then make sure you get the warranty IN WRITING, do not fail to get it in writing!
One more thing is it will have to be removed to repair it.
