Thanks for the info, but there is no front panel to take off. It is in the back.

I've replaced the heating element, and it works... But I can't get the clips to hold the access panel in place. Is there an easy solution to this? They are not bent or broken, I just can't manipulate them into place...

You will take off the front lower axcess panel. Use a knife to pry up two clips on the top of the panel.

I have a kenmore 70 series heavy duty 110 96573230. It doesn't heat up. Can't find where the thermal fuse. Where is it located? Do I need to unscrew the back?

Yes, you need to take it all apart. ( Including the back.)
All of the things that can cause your problem are in the back and the bottom of your machine.
There are actually about 3 to 7 things that can cause "no heat".
Not only the "thermal fuse", but also the heating element, and any of the "overheat thermostat switches" can have failed, beside the possibility there is a wire has burned in two.
You will need a testing instrument like a multi-meter or a volt-ohm meter to check all these out.
Be blessed.

I have a kenmore heavy duty 70 series gas. not heating up. were is the heating element. could you send a technical manual.

Your dryer does not have a element. The problem is either with the igniter, or the gas valve coils. I would replace both of them. I think they would run about $35.00 for both. Here is a link to the parts.

Electric dryer won"t heat. Kenmore Heavy Duty 70

are you getting power down to the heater?why did you change all those other parts?you need to unplug the dryer, with a meter read out all the parts you changed out again but first make sure you have 240 volts coming to the machine, you can check it at the cord in the back, touch the white to the red,you should have 110 volts or 120,then go from the white to the black and you should have the same thing,if not the problem is in the house,if it's correct make sure you have power coming down to the heater, you could have a bad timer or a burnt wire, when you check the other parts unplug the dryer and whatever part you check at least one wire has to be removed,do this and you'll find your problem,if you did this first you wouldn't of bought all those parts.let me know what you find

The vent box inside the dryer still has lint in it. You need to reach way inside to get at it. Turn power off.
