Re: psp headset

Guys, there's no microphone built in the remote control for the psp.

To play games like Talkman, you need a standalone microphone to be attached to the usb port on the top of your psp, or a camera with mic built in.

When I have my headphones in the volume works but when I take them out it dosn't work anymore

For PSP Go owners, a very cool feature is the ability to pair bluetooth devices with the system. This recipe will show you how to toggle between outputting audio between the PSP Go’s speakers/headphone jack and a bluetooth headset/speaker.
1. Pair your bluetooth device with your PSP Go.
-Go to Settings > Bluetooth Device Settings
-Be sure to turn the Bluetooth Connection ON. Then select Manage Bluetooth Devices.
-Click on Register New Devices; put your headset into pairing mode and pair it with the PSP Go by following the onscreen prompts.
2. Once your headset/device is paired. Be sure to leave the Bluetooth Connection on.
3. Finally, open up the music player or a game and when you want to switch between the PSP Go’s speaker or your headset, just hold the Audio button on top for about 7 seconds. It will change the volume icon w/a bluetooth icon and audio on your PSP Go should start outputting via your headset.
To toggle back to speakers/headphones, again hold the audio button for about 7 seconds and it will switch back.
This should work with any bluetooth headset and does not require it being a stereo headset (ie any $5 headset should work).

Sound work with Headset but on speaker no sound otherwise

one way what u can try is have your headset when u turn on the psp after switching off. then once again try restarting without it. now u might have sound if your speakers arent dead. else am sure ur speakers or connection to it is dead. else try wit different UMDs. again one more is try updating the psp to a newer version. if u have a software problem which causes the sound off then that might fix it.

There may be a few things that are wrong:

1. Your headset may be faulty.
2. You may need to configure your router.

First, make your IP address static.
If you do not know how to do this, then there is a guide here.

After that, you will need to go into your Router's Control Panel.
You can do this one of two ways:

1. Go to Start --> Run. Type in "cmd".
Once the command box opens, type in: "ipconfig /all"
Find the "Default Gateway" and paste it into your browser.
You will be prompted for a username and password, which you would have set when you installed the router.

2. Go to and find out what your external IP address is. Copy the address, and paste it into your browser.

Once you have logged into your Router's control panel, look for "Port Forwarding" or "DMZ".
When you get onto the page, add a new record.
Use the static IP address you used earlier, and set the record to "DMZ".

[[DMZ open ALL ports on that IP address, allowing incomming and outgoing traffic to pass in and out of the computer]]

This should allow the headset to work, however if it doesn't, it may be faulty.

Headset microphone

If you can't hear other people it might have to do some router settings. I know you have to have the remote that comes with the original earphones. so plug headset into remote then plug remote into psp. I don't have the remote and I hear people but my mic doesn't work. Hope that helps.
