I have a Gateway DX 4850 and would like to upgrade the motherboard. What are my options?

Maybe you are looking for a Gamer PC? However that consists of building or buying a whole new system, because this mother board seems to pretty good. Actually the whole system is fine. It supports and has some of the latest hardware. Besides maybe the i7 CPU, and possibly a better video card, I don't see where an upgrade is warranted.
Here are the specs I found, so if you system differs please state so.

I am wanting to upgrade my processor from an AMD Athlon 64x2 2.0Ghz to an AM2 3.0ghz. I've upgraded the the ram to 3gb and the video card to a 8800 gts 320mb and I can upgrade the power supply to 550w if...

The 8800 GTS is a big card so make sure you have the room to install, It takes the space of two slots. Reviews say it runs hot so provide adequate ventilation. It's minimum power supply requirement is 400w. I don't know what you are planning to do with this card but, if your a gamer, you'll want to have at least 400w. Hope this helps.

How big cpu, ram mem. can i fit on motherboard for the gateway GM4019E. by the way no probs. just gammer running windows 7 with time to put into it. is it worth it.

AMD 64 6000+ , max 2GB of DDR400 . No, it's not worth upgrading, it's an old board meant for a Media Center pc - not even when it was new it was not a gamer machine.

Upgrade my CPU or not!

You should go to the Toshiba website where you will find Toshiba recommended upgrade (and support) paths which will include part numbers and recommended configurations.

A laptop with a 2.0 ghz is probably not very upgradable, in my opinionn but then, it is not my opinion you seek. You can get the fact from Toshiba.

I am curious why the 2.0 ghz is no longer satisfactory for your use ... what do you intend to do with this computer. You may discover you are better off moving to a desktop computer which is eminently more upgradable and probably for fewer dollars.

Im trying to fix up my wife's Dell Inspiron B130 instead of buying a new computer. what is the best processor, and video card upgrade i can do?

You don't want to upgrade the cpu. As for the video card it can't be changed as its build into the laptop motherboard.

I would highly recommend that you instead upgrade the ram memory on the laptop since it will give you a bigger performance increase than a new cpu or video card.

The machine only has 256MB of ram, get atleast 512MB or 1024 /1gb of ram and it will work much better.

Is it possible to upgrade my processor?

well first off it depends on what kind of mother board you have. if its an older board it might not handle an upgrade. the labur required to change a cpu or proseser is alot. memory is usulay fairly easy thare is normaly a panel underneith the laptop for the ram plate. but if you are not good at this sort of thin i recomend getting it profesinoly.
