Re: Can this dryer be vented in any manner except...
Just run the vent pipe 5' or so away from the dryer and put a nylon stocking on the end of pipe or you can purchase a vent box, I wouldn't reccomend leaving all that humidity inside your house unless your in a very dry climate, you will start getting mold and mildew growth

sometimes dryers do not vent outside but usually they do.
In most cases you will need to look behind the dryer and see the vents it is around connection usually a dryer will then at the closest exterior wall of your house or apartment look and see where the closest exterior wall through dryer is and then from the outside you will see a vented system turn on the dryer before you do so so you can hear and see where the dryer is venting
Sounds like the sensors are detecting dry and shutting off. The vent could be clogged or crushed. Possible dryer vent is to long before it gets outside. Back pressure air causes sensor to shut down.
i looked up your model dryer, your lint filter is on top so your duct or shute that the lint filter slides into is in the back.unplug the dryer, pull it a little way from the wall, look in the back to see how long the vent line is,then slide the dryer out enough so you can remove the vent line without ripping it off the dryer depending on how it's attached, some are clamped, some just slide out if connected to an elbow piece of vent tubing, taped on or some are screwed on.remove the vent line pull the dryer out and remove the back panel,on the left side you'll see the shute or metal duct, pull out the lint filter and remove the two phillips screws, remove the 4 screws that hold the duct on,remove the duct and clean it out, with a shop vac vac up any lint in the blower wheel and what's visible then set the vac to blow and blow out the blower wheel, the pipe where the vent line connects and the heater box on the right side, put the dryer back together except for the two phillips screws on top.now if the vent line is long i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, just stick the leaf blower into the vent line and blow all the lint outside, first go outside and look at the hood where the air blows out, make sure nothing is blocking it,if there's a cage or like chicken wire remove it and keep it off so no lint can get trapped in it,you want the lint to blow outside freely, before you even start to clean out the dryer and vent you can start the dryer,go outside and check how strong the air is blowing out and then check it after you clean it out,it should be stronger, another sign that something is blocked is your clothes take longer to dry.now you should pull the front apart and clean the inside cabinet.watch video,it will show you what to do.hope this helps and you should do this around every year to 18 months.it's easier than it sounds to do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGIG8Wo5-N4
Hello, What you need to check is if the venting the dryer connects to is crushed/restricted or in some manner blocked. Check from where it connects at back of dryer all the way to where is vents outside of the house.
Check the vent hose for kinks . Also check the exhaust at the outside to make sure it has good air flow to the outside . A dryer either heats or not . Due to it heats , the only possible problem is vent hose blockage .
You may have a venting problem. Check outside to make sure vent is blowing good. It is possible that the motor may have went bad with all of the problems associated with a clogged vent.
Pull the dryer out and remove the lint hose . Turn on the dryer and feel if there is good air flow and if you feel heat . If there is good air flow and heat , dry a load of clothes , to see if they dry normally .
If there is not good air flow , then the blower wheel is probably stripped and needs to be replaced . If there is good air flow and heat , then the problem is in the vent ducting , between the dryer and to where it vents to the outside . Dryer could be pushed back too far , causing the hose to " kink " , restricting the air flow to the outside .
Remember , a dryer either heats or doesn't heat . If no heat , then a dryer problem exists . If heat , but dryer does not dry , then a vent problem is the cause ( except for maytag , which the blower wheel sometimes strips out ) .
Remove the vent hose from the dryer and dry a load of clothes . If they dry , then dryer is pushed too far back , kinking vent hose , or the vent from the dryer to the outside is blocked somewhere . A dryer either heats or doesn't heat (except for maytag associated dryers ) in which the blower wheel could be stripped out . But Kenmores don't have blower problems .
1. Open dryer door and remove the phillips head screws at the 5 and 7 O'Clock positions. 2. Remove three screws at very back, allowing top cover to be moved back about an inch and lifted off. 3. remove screw at top left and top right from front top panel. 4. pull plastic front panel along top edge to release front top panel. (watch for sharp edges) 5. Swing top up and over onto top of dryer. 6. Unplug light and door switch. 7. remove four screws at top of large lower panel. 8. lift panel up a bit and off. 9. unplug sensor plug at bottom allowing panel with door to be set aside. 10. gas dryer has dime sized high limit thermostat on left front side of burner chamber. Has two wires on it, with a small pin in the center. Push the pin in. Reassemble and clean out vent, eliminating flexible venting, replacing with rigid aluminum piping and elbows. Outside vent should have a four inch vent flap opening, not just a two inch if it is that style.
