Question about Brother Sewing Machines
I have a Consew model 226 industrial straightstitch machine. Whe I removed the bobbin after raising the retaining lever it will not lower back into place. It is not damaged in any way. Could thread be wrapped around under the bobbin carrier causing this? How should I clear this problem? Is it difficult or unadvisable to remove the bobbin mechanism to clear thread under it or can it be done by myself. I just need a detailed diagram or breakdown so I can reassemble this piece correctly. I am pretty good at mechanical stuff like this but I will defer to the experts.
Have you tried raising the foot with your knee lift and at the same time by hand lower the retaining lever. Always works for me.
