MSI Laptop have no disply only white screen

What can you do if the laptop LCD screen turned completely white?

1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).

Here's an example of a laptop with white screen.

When you turn on the laptop, it starts but the image on the screen is completely white right from the beginning.

Most likely you still can use the laptop with an external monitor.

Just connect the monitor to the VGA port on the back or side of your laptop and then switch the video output from internal to external mode.

On Toshiba laptops you can toggle between internal and external screens using Fn+F5 keys. Hold down Fn and press on F5 until you get video on the external monitor.
On IBM laptops use Fn+F7.
On HP laptops use Fn+F4.

It's possible that you have to use a different key combination on your laptop but you get the idea.

On some laptops, in order to be able to use the external monitor, you have to connect it to the laptop and then restart the laptop so the external monitor is detected by the laptop.

In some cases the laptop screen may turn white because of poor connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.

If you want to check this connection, you'll have to take apart the display panel because the connector is located on the back side of the LCD screen.

These laptop service manuals and disassembly instructions may be useful.

Always check the video cable connection first. Reconnecting the video cable may fix your problem.

If reconnecting the video cable doesn't help, most likely you have a problem either with the LCD screen or with the motherboard.

The best way to find out witch one is causing the problem is testing the laptop with another working LCD screen.

you will need to connect to another monitor or your television to your computer with the vga lead monitor connection

click start control panel display change display settings adjust resolution this may vary depending on your operating system

you should see a no 1 and a no 2 with detect and identify keep an eye on the screen when you select the number tabs this may vary depending on your operating system

when you select the no 2 tab this should be the extended desktop always click apply after making any changes

or click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to monitors right click select scan for hardware changes

if you can get an extended desktop your monitor is faulty

if you cant get an exended desktop

hope it helps

It says cable not connected

I would suggest a bit of troubleshooting, since it could be an issue with your graphics card/video adapter, or also the panel itself.
First of all, if the screen goes dark, does the unit still remained powered up? (power indicator lit, etc)
If so, use a bright flashlight to shine on the screen. If it is the backlight, then you should see be able to your display, but it will be very dark (the backlight, as the name suggests, illuminates the screen from behind, which makes the rest of it visible). Sometimes the backlights can be expensive, but you never know.
If that doesn't work, I would suggest hooking it up to another PC. If the problem is with the monitor, it should do the same thing when connected to another computer. If it doesn't you may have an issue with your video card.
One last thing to note: some Acer LCD's carry 3 years limited warranty on them; a warranty would most likely cover this kind of issue. I don't know when or where you bought this, but you might want to do a little research; if it still has a warranty in force, then they will repair/replace and you would only have to pay shipping.

Laptop turns on but screen doesn't show

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barelysee the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can beany kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vgacable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves yourvideo card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you rebootwithout you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN(Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correctkey for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key willnormally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash lightand nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card isbad.

Samsung Syncmaster 2032BW problem

Hi Ray. Does anything happen to the Mac's display or is it just on the monitor? In system preferences go to the Displays section, and with the 'Display" tab selected, click on the Detect Displays button.
This normally lets the Mac work out what is attached and sets the parameters accordingly. If it still doesn't work, try using another video cable. I have have had a number of instances with external monitors where the problem has been a faulty lead.If that still fails. Try the monitor on another device if you can - does it work there?

After powering on monitor says no sync

I've almost the same problem. When the system turns on the monitor doesn't sync. After a variable trials with down/up the sync is enabled and the computer starts.A very clear event occurs : when the monitor can''t sync ( and system doesn't boot)you can hear very clear a high fan rotation. When I look/hear in the system the Isuspect the cpu fan. The system boots ( monitor syncs) when the fan rotationgoes from high to low. So the system hangs on an internal check on the rotation speed of the cpu fan.I've googled a lot , but until now doesn't find an answer . Possibilties which I think about : replace cpu fan , clean cpu fun ( but it looks clean).I cannot measure the fan rotation speed when the system is hanging. At normal rotation all info can retrieved witth the program cpu-z.Did you already have a solution ?

My dvd unit will not work nor does the monitor turn on

First check the interior fuses. The DVD player and Monitor should be on a separate fuse which will cause an issue if a fuse is blown.

Veriton 7600gt why no output video is going to the monitor

Hi mellomoris,

Sometimes we wonder why there is no video output on the monitor or we just get "no signal" display. This may happen if the vga cable or the cable that connects from the monitor to the system unit (tower) is loose. It also happens when the monitor has power but the system unit is not turned on. In this case, you can try to do the steps below if it can resolve the issue. (This works with others, I hope it'll work on yours.)

- Sheck the cables and connections to make sure that they're securely plugged in.
- If you have another monitor, please try to plug it in.
- Try to check if there is activity on your harddrive or fan, issue might not be with the monitor but with the system unit.

Hope this helps.
