This is because ur internal mechanism that checks for the card lock protection is jammed or diss alligned. So give it for service. Its not a big issue.

Thankyou

Cards write protection switch

Took out the card from the camera give a look on the side line of the card . You can see a small switch there. That's marked as lock & unlock. Make the switch on unlock side and then try.

Installed new memory card says it is protected and to reset How do I reset

SD type cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

Ihave bought A new memory card for my camera but it is saying card protected how do I correct this

You didn't say what make and model camera you have, so I'll assume it uses SD and/or SDHC cards.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

SD Card Needs Formatted

Thank you for using fixya. SD cards have a security lock on the side that you can toggle left to right or up and down.Check your card if it is on the secure mode or not, or you can just toggle the switch then check if it will start saving captures from your camera.

Remove write protection on micro sd card...card is not "locked"

You might want to check on Samsung.com in the support section of your phone and see if the cell phone can recognize a 2gig card. It may only see 1 gig and lower.

Write protection

The slide on the card actually allows a switch to activate on the inside of the player/recorder. If changing the position of the slide on the memory stick has no effect, look at the microswitch inside the machine next.
