Question about Sony DSC-T70 Digital Camera
I have a sony dsc 170 camera and while i was in the ocean a wave splashed the camera. it instantly shut off and i removed the battery. i dried it out with a hair dryer on cool setting and reinstalled the battery the next day and it worked. the problem is that there are spots (dried salt water) on the inside of the Carl Ziess lens...it looks like spots and you can see the haze if you take a picture.
Can it be removed and cleaned without damaging it? i've been told that it cannot be done.
No, unfortunately it has to be sent in to have the lens cleaned. I have sent mine in for 'dust bunnies' that leave little spots on the lens and it was successful. Good Luck!

In all honesty you should not attempt to fix this yourself. Because of the internal components it would be best to either send it in to Sony or an authorized dealer. I am sending you a link so that you can contact them and see what they have to say. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.
