Aux Input and Echo Devices Aux input requires a 3.5mm auxiliary cable and a device with aux output capabilities. You may recognize the aux cable as the same type of plug that comes on a standard pair of headphones. An aux input amplifies audio from the output source.
Make sure whatever is plugged into the Aux port is the proper size and configuration (2-lead, 3-lead; 3.5mm, etc) as far as the cable, is properly seated (not so big that it doesn't fit all the way in) and that the device is on. Most Aux inputs don't activate unless there is an active signal coming in.

On the back of this system, do you see a group of RCA plug outlets? Marked IN and OUT? Phono IN? Phono OUT? Speaker IN? Speaker OUT? CD IN? CD OUT? Look for the one marked AUX IN or AUX OUT. AUX IN lets you connect a separate device, could be colored Blue, Green, White. Usually paired one over the other, RED over WHITE, YELLOW over WHITE, ect. If this system will accept an auxillary unit, player, ect, then it will have an AUX RCA type plug on the back.
