There is an automatic shut off switch (that is a fire preventative) that is malfuntioning. These switches go out and are a pretty common problem. These switches are located on the inside of the dryer and are usually in the rear of the assembly. Unless you are really good with electrical appliances I don't recommend repairing this yourself. Call a repairman and if you sound fairly savvy - example: Hi I am having a problem with my Model xxx Dryer. It seems like it's one of the overheat kill switches. How much will it cost to replace?I just don't have time to do it myself right now. Etc..Etc..Etc.. you probably won't get gouged for too high of a repair cost. A skilled dryer repairman knows this is a simple repair and takes about a half hour tops. There are actually three of these "kill switches" in a typical dryer. They are redundant so that if the dryer ever gets too hot it will shut off and prevent fire AND litigation. Once it is repaired you will be good too go for a good long time again(depending on the quality of the model, of course). Good Luck!!!
SOURCE: Dryer shuts off and won't restart until it cools off
more likely a bad motor ..excessive lint build up in dryer will reduce air flow through motor causing it to overheat problem is by the time the lint problem is found and corrected motor is already gone
SOURCE: dryer shuts off quickly
The problem could be with the thermostats...or maybe the motor.
It would be wise to check those out first.
The thermostats are normally located in the air tube from the blower to the drum, this is where the heating coil in normally located also.
Hope this helps

I used to work for a Crosley dealership. The number one problem is gonna be the blower wheel.go ahead and pop the top(after unplugging the machine) Get the front off and then get the drum out. Clean out all the lint. 31001043 is the part number
