Question about Cycling

1 Answer

Hi. My name is mike. I have a 09 750 Brute Force. I recently added the k&n air filter and HMF exhaust. It rode fine the first week i was home. It set up for 2 weeks and when i come back i drove it and it has lost a significant amount of power. It seems as if it is not getting enough fuel or getting to much. I took the air filter off and it had motor oil under the screen. I also checked the belt and it was fine. Although the spark plug wire is a little cracked it. When i hit a mud hole with water it also seemed to die out even more. Do you have a solution? Really need help.

Replace the plug lead and clean the spark plug you are getting a short at plug and this causes loss of power if there is oil on filter this is cutting amount of air getting through to carb as it blocks air flow..check to see if you have a gasket blown for the oil leak check near where the filter is .. if you run the bike for a while get a piece of clean white paper and hold or tape it in place near the engine then give it some revs and look for a spray pattern on the paper.. you may have to move it around a bit to find the leak.

Kawasaki 750 brute force brake

Remove and check the settings, check the bearings and the tolerance that is needed or if there was dirt or foreign particles that had caused this to happen. Also it can be due to worn out brakes.

Do you know what the carb settings would be for a 01 zx6r kawi with a hmf high mount exhaust

If only full exhaust system and air filter use 10 units larger MAIN jets and recheck the spark plugs for brown color.NOT white nor black.
The floaters should cut off the fuel just when they are parallel to the canister surface (if they are adjustable).
Don't change the idle jets.Use the stock. The needles stock setting as well.
