SOURCE: My Sony PlaySatation2 console wont read any games on PS2 discs.

9 out of 10 times when the fat ps2 cant/wont read disk its the cd tray needs to be adjusted.

I would suggest opening up the ps2 and cleaning the console with Qtips and rubing alcohol. if the laser will wont read. go to youtube.com type in fix my ps2 laser. you will watch a video on how to adjust your cd tray.

The reason for this issue is if the laser is to close or to far from the cd the laser cant read the cd.

the worse problem u can come across is the laser 100% failed. which is rare but you can buy a new/used working laser on ebay.com or google it. the laser will have the model on it you want to make sure you get the correct model. otherwise it wont work.

Get a lens Cleaning Disk and put it into the CD Player, there could be foreign objects on the lens itself, these and other shelf systems all have one common problem... Dust.

How do i fix my sony mhc-gnz888d reject and stand by problem?

The "Eject" and "Standby" display issue on your Sony MHC-GNZ888D could be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from simple glitches to more complex hardware problems. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to address the issue:
  1. Check Power Source and Cables:
    • Ensure that the power source and power cables are properly connected and providing a stable power supply to the system.
    • Try plugging the Hi-Fi into a different power outlet to rule out any issues with the electrical supply.
  2. Reset the System:
    • Unplug the Hi-Fi from the power source and wait for a few minutes.
    • Plug it back in and try turning it on again. This can sometimes reset any minor glitches in the system.
  3. Remove and Reinsert Discs and Tapes:
    • If you have any discs or tapes in the player, remove them and make sure there is nothing obstructing the mechanisms.
  4. Disconnect External Devices:
    • Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, smartphones, etc.) that are connected to the Hi-Fi and try turning it on again.
  5. Check for Jammed Mechanisms:
    • Open the disc tray (if applicable) and visually inspect for any obstructions or jams. Gently remove any foreign objects if you find any.
  6. Cassette Deck Maintenance:
    • If you're not hearing the usual clicking sounds from the cassette deck, there might be an issue with the mechanisms.
    • Try opening the cassette compartment and visually inspect the mechanisms for any obstructions or damage. Ensure that the cassette deck is clean and free of debris.
  7. Cooling and Ventilation:
    • Make sure the Hi-Fi has proper ventilation and is not overheating. If it gets too hot, it might automatically go into standby mode.
  8. Seek Professional Repair:
    • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there might be a more serious hardware problem.
    • In such cases, it's recommended to contact Sony customer support or a professional audio equipment technician for further diagnosis and repair.
Remember that working with electronic equipment carries inherent risks, and if you're not comfortable or experienced with troubleshooting and repairs, it's best to seek professional assistance to avoid potential damage to the equipment or harm to yourself.

My sony mhc lx10000 has no audio whenever the display reads speakers B ...HOW DO I RESET IT TO PLAY?

This is for model # MHC-LX10000. All of these answers are WRONG ! Do not listen to these. Its very simple, I had the same problem happen to me today and simply reset the system to the original factory settings. Here's how to do this and is very easy. It is mentioned in the user manual on Page 32. First unplug the power cord. Then plug it back in and turn on the system with the power button on the audio system. At the same time, press 3 buttons - the square/stop, ENTER and the Power buttons. The system gets reset to factory settings and the Speaker B will disappear. You will lose all your presets but the speakers will work once again. What a relief it was to me ! You can then set up your presets again. I wonder why with all these system support techs available here and bragging about how many years they have worked for Sony, none of them could mention this simple solution.

Can not read disk

I just sent my BDP-S300 in with same problem...the tech told me he couldn't duplicate the problem and I think I know why...the fix is to UNPLUG the power cable and leave it unplugged for a minimum of 2-3 minutes...this process clears the internal memory; it seems that if you don't clear the memory, it won't read any disc because the unit thinks the same 'problem' disc is in the drive... (don't simply hold down the power button for 5 seconds - that will 'factory reset' the unit to default settings and you will have to reset your video / audio settings)...you have to physically unplug the unit from the power source...If I had waited a little longer before repowering the unit, I wouldn't have had to send the unit in (obviously the unit was without power during shipping and when it was powered up, internal memory was reset and thus did not indicate any problems). One more trick I learned is this - If a disc won't eject, turn the unit off, and instead of using the Power button to turn unit on, use the Open / Close button...the tech said the unit will then eject the disc before trying to read it...Hope this info helps!
