This camera only supports up to 2GIG or memory card so that's the reason why the 4 GIG wont work with it....

Hi,

People have used even 4 GB on this camera without any issue.

The 'Memory Card Full" message actually refers to the internal memory of the camera and 15 pictures is about the right number it can store.

The " Memory Card Error " message refers to the GTX card which was not working. ( hence causing the camera to record the pictures in the internal memory )

Between the camera and the GTX memory card, it is more likely the problem lies in the card than the camera. I would return the card to the shop.

Hope i helped.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The SD630 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. Larger cards are actually SDHC cards and will not work in the SD630.

Your SDHC card can be used in any camera that accepts SDHC cards.

4 gb memory card placed into camera. Camera says card error. Why?

The SD630 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in SD devices.

You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

SX200IS what memory card I shut bay .I hawe SDHC 4 GB , it is okay ?

Hello. The card you have seems to be the right type but i'm not sure if your camera will use a 4 GB card. Put it in the camera, if you get a card error or any other message your size limit is probably smaller .

Unlocked 4.0 GB San Disk

The camera you are using supports those cards: SD Memory Card, MultiMediaCard. Maximum size of SD card is 2.0GB anything over that is SDHC. So I would say the card is not supported by your camera.
