Are this dismantled? Normally it comes with a cord with
plug already in place. All you have to do, is plug it to the
outlet, and switch the power on.

Lights dim

if the grinder just hums then it is a 240 volt unit and will burn out on 110 volts
the garage power should be the same as the house 240 v
but if only 110 v that indicates that it is 1/3 of a 3 phase power supply
if it has just started then get a electrician in to check the reason for the power drop

I have a Buffalo B-10CB(CH) bench grinder and the on/off switch has broken, it's a push/pull type. What can I replace it with to make it work safely?

You could connect the wires of the switch together inside and bypass the switch. Then I would connect in the power cable a switch rated for 1 hp. You can use surface mount electrical box, with two cable connectors (one for the cable going into the grinder, the other for the cable going to the male cord end of the cable. Install a 120 volt switch inside the box (similar to the light switch in the wall). Make sure that the switch is rated for 1 hp. I would install the switch under the bench, under the grinder.

Cant get a on off switch anywhere co that maid it for wilton is out of business what a scam.

Repair parts have always been a problem.

See if you can get into the electrical area ... open the bench grinder from underneath ... tie the switch wires together ... put a regular wall switch on the electric line.

I hope it works for you.

How tight should the blade bolt be on a cut off saw

You've answered this yourself. The blade only needs to be nipped up enough to grip. If it slips, it will tighten. Thats why, some machines have a left hand thread, as they always rotate so as to tighten in the event of slippage.
If the blade slips under normal service, suggest you clean both blade and the flanges, and just do it up a little tighter next time.

Bench Grinders Objects

our bench grinder can be used to keep your chisels, knives, gouges and other similar cutting tools sharp, which every woodworker knows is vitally important. Also, bench grinders are handy for sharpening lawn mower blades, drill bits, gardening shears and more. Additionally, a bench grinder can be used for honing and shaping metal objects when modifications are needed. For instance, perhaps you need to modify a door hinge to make it fit in a certain application. No tool is better for this task than a bench grinder.

Take apart

My grinder went from bad to worse and finally stopped grinding (with the motor still buzzing but absolutely no grinding). Knowing I had to do something or throw it away, I pulled the clear plastic bean reservoir upward and separated it from the grinder body. I looked down the hole where beans go down to the grinder and found packed coffee ground blocking the hole. I cleaned the whole thing, put the reservoir back, and my grinder now works like new :-)
