Question about Frigidaire FRT17G4B Top Freezer Refrigerator
I have a Frigidaire fridge by Electrolux and it makes ice cubes on its own. The problem is that the ice cubes taste like **** and stink too. How do i get nice clean ice cubes?
In order to get as clean an ice cube as possible, it all depends on the quality of the water that goes into the ice maker. If you have a water softener, your cubes will always be a bit cloudy, since the added salt slows down the freezing slightly and thus the cubes get cloudy.
That said, there are a few things you can do to improve your water. Adding a whole house water filter with a sediment charcoal filter, will remove the impurities and help to improve the overall taste. Then add an inline charcoal filter on the water line into the fridge. That will filter your water a bit more and help further improve the clarity and taste of the cubes.
Beyond that, you might want to look into a reverse osmosis system to really get the best possible tasting water you can.
The old adage of "garbage in, garbage out" is a good analagy for water quality issues, so you need to figure out what's in your water in order to take the steps to treat your water for the best possible results.
I recall that Sears offers free water testing (to help sell water softeners) so that's an option, as well as getting a home water test you can perform yourself.
Hope that helps you with your situation. Best regards!

The quality of your cubes is determined by the water going into the fridge, and the cleanliness of the ice cube maker and the tubing that carries the water into the ice cube maker.
If your fridge has a built in water filter, the newer ones often do, you will have to replace the filter. If not, you will have to either clean the tubing and the unit or replace them.
How is the quality of the water coming out of your faucets. If it tastes like **** then you will have to get a water quality company to come in and check it out. They come for free and are in the yellow pages. They will want to sell you a water filter or possibly even a system to clean your water.
Get back if I can assist you further.
