Unhook the vent hose from the back and remove all the lint that is blocking the air from going out. Also reach into the back and clear it out too.

Hello. I am glad you checked for lint in the filter. That could have been a problem. There are several other possible causes Since you did not state whether you had an electric dryer or a gas dryer, I will tell you what to look for in each category.

If you have an electric dryer it could be any one of these things If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Wiring

If it is a gas dryer it could be one of these things:Igniter
Gas valve coils
Thermal fuse

Dryer dont get hot

Try cleaning all the vents inside the dryer all the way to the outside. Be sure and clean around the blower wheel lots of things get in where the blower is pencils nails everything. They will block the wheel so it can't turn. Also vacuum the lint out of the motor. Lint most likely the problem. Hope this helps.

Lint is stuck in door seal and clothes are not drying

sounds like the lint filter is clogged up, replace it with a new one if possible or give the old filter a good wash, let it dry and try again

Dryer does'nt get hot as expected. 7 years old, takes over two hours to dry load, and clothes have large amount of lint

You need to clean the air filters, must be well and truly blocked up by now.
The filter should be in the door hatch.

Slow to dry

Hi!!

Have you cleaned the filter and the exhaust duct??

Lint plugs therm up, the heat sensor shuts off heating element thinking it is hot enough. Result: Clothes not getting dry.

Unplug duct and clean it, also clean the exahust passage of dryer. (where duct hooks to dryer)

Click below if this was helpful, Good luck.

Drum turns and you feel some heat but does not dry clothes

check to make sure you have no lint buildup in the drier itself along with lint build up in the exhaust hose leading from the back of the drier. If there isn't proper exhaust from the lint filter to the outside of the house or apt. then the clothes will get hot but still be wet.

Hope this helped

Getting Hot, but not drying the clothes

there has got to be some restriction in the vent system. Take the vent pipe completely off and look in the tube coming directly out of the dryer. Also make sure the drum is turning good speed.

Whirlpool dryer wed5700sw

you need a dryer vent brush first, bought at home depot cheap, and clean the entire vent to the house, then clean where the vent hooks up to the machine,if your filter is where your door is pull out the filter and stick the brush in there and pull out lint, also use your vacume, remember you let some lint out when you let the hose blow out but theres a lot more there to clean, and also unplug your machine as you do this,if this helps please give me a fix ya vote

Heating, draining water(enough?) but not drying clothes, they're just HOT, so is top of machine

You have a problem with the condensing duct.  Possibly clogged with excess and lint and needs to be cleaned out.  This requires disassembly of the unit to get to it.  Not a difficult job but not easy.
