Open an attachment from the Reading Pane

1. In the message list, select the message that has the attachment.
2. In the Reading Pane, double-click the attachment.

Note If you are given the choice between opening and saving the attachment, keep in mind that it is a good idea to save the file first and then scan it by using an antivirus program before you open it.

may be you got the wrong process.. try this.. open your email then at the bottom u will see the attach and its sign, click it to set up.. just wait after the process was done... click new and get the document you want to put in it then click the attachment on the bottom wait until download attachment done.. then try to open your downloads..

Is there any attachment in your e-mail message. Maybe the picture is attached. Open the attachment.
If there is attachment, but you can not open it, check security part of your e-mail client and look for possibility of opening the attachment, maybe it is marked as not allowed. Mark it as allowed and try to open attachment again.

i guess you receive the warning as virus attack from the attachments right??? scan your system and then format it if possible.

try clearing the browsing history in internet explorer options so it clears out the cookies just go to internet explorer options and click delete it should be under browsing history then try again it should then let you open attachments in yahoo

This probably means that you do not have a program associated with the type of attachment you have been receiving. Rather than open the attachments, save them to your computer, and then check if you have a program that can open the attachment.

If you cannot open attachments while using the Outlook Express e-mail client, your security settings may be too high. When you try to open attachments, you may see the following message: “OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail.”

To check your e-mail security settings:

1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Click on Tools in the menu, and scroll down to Options.
3. Click on the Security tab.
4. Make sure “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus” is UNCHECKED.
5. Click on the Apply button. Click on OK.

You should now be able to open attachments.
