Question about Westinghouse Televison & Video

1 Answer

Will not turn on with side controls or remote.

Will not turn on with control on set or remote. Sometimes comes on spontaneously. Comes on with white screen. When it comes on spontaneously I turn remote control off and then on again to access video function. Not connected to cable. Using for DVD play only. Sleep set says it's off. Has been known to come on by itself after a power outage has been restored. Recently hooked up to Sony stereo receiver to boost volume. Purchased 11-07 at Best Buy. Westinghouse tech support number "temporarily disconnected".

Sounds like a bad main board, but try this 1rst since the only easy fix on these is check the power supply for swollen capacitors and clean the LVDS cable and reseat it (goes from the main board to the panel)

Volume pegs to max. Turns itself on. Goes to menu. Intermittent

This is becoz your Internal Remote control response program chip needs to be replaced! You need it to get repaired at nearest service station. Or it may be due to Your keys pressed continously from remote control. Check both the causes! then decide. It will help you!

im realy not trying to be a smart a*s but bont you only ever use lights at night?? i know i do?
it sounds like its the programer chip within the light that giving you the problem if taking the batterys out the controler dont stop this, its down to the light,
well there is one other thing it may be,,,
a friendly gost playing tricks on you???
or it could be that its getting a surge or spike of power from some were and that tricks the controler in the light to turn itself on???

Get in touch with Minka group Mr. Minka who will assist. I'm working on my same problem right now. You need to reset the dip switch in your remote or wall switch and also the same setting on the fan.

There is a 4 position (dip) switch on both the fan housing and the remote. Make sure these switches are set exactly the same and the remote will control the light and fan separately. If not, the remote may be getting interference on the preset frequency - try CHANGING the dip switches to a different setting and the remote should work.
