If the resistor you refer to is the capacitor, yes it dies require the capacitor and no it cannot be bypassed. I fyou have power to the blower and it does not start you need to replace the motor.. hope this helps

2004 Hyundai Elantra blower speed control switch?

If the fan blows at half speed on high, it could be that the blower motor is toast.
You would need to check the motor for power and ground in all speeds, and the ohms resistance of the motor with the plug disconnected.

2003 buick Century air conditioning blower

Hi Ken, I'm glad to help! A/C Blower problems like your, where the blower only blows on HIGH and later stops working all together is usually the "BLOWER MOTOR RESISTER" That is where I would start. Ken, If that does fix it. I would replace the blower motor as well because its usually the high resister within the motor that actually causes the problem with the resister. The Blower Resister on most vehicles is located on the passenger side near the motor. Some are right beside the motor, others are behind the glove box in the housing. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Ken.

Blower fan stopped working due to snow blockage. I checked fuses in panel and under hood. Would it be resister on blower?

No i dont think so as it should still blow of high setting where their is no resistance ,check for power to the motor and if you have power on high to the motor then its the motor burnt out ,could even be water ingress into teh motor ?? i would really need to have my head under the bonnet to know exactly

Blower motor not working at all,,the fuse is good and the fan blows if i jump it to the battery

HI Get a test lamp. With blower control switch on high ,remove power wire from blower motor, see if you have power at wire ,if not check for power at blower resister which is mounted next to fan motor. You should have power on two wires, one coming from switch the other going to fan.If you have power going to resister ,the resister is bad ,if no power to resister, switch has a problem Good Luck

99 Dodge durango heater not working

The blowers ion the back have there own blower motor. The front has it's own. The resister controls the range the blower motor runs on,( low, medium, high). If the blower motor is not working it may be the motor itself. Was the fuse checked:?

Blower motor on 96 Isuzu Rodeo does not blow on any speeds, fuse is good. I read if blower motor on works on high only it is resister, and if works on all speeds but high is relay.. so does blower motor...

if fuses are good, check for power at blower motor, when truck is running and a/c on. the resistor and the switch provide ground, so the blue/white wire should have power, and the blue/black wire should have NO power, if it does have power, then most likely the resistor is bad. if it has no power and the motor doesnt run, the motor is bad.

Heater blower only blows on low

This could be a few different things:

1.Check the power and ground connections on your blower motor, corrosion can cause high resistance and a slow blower speed.

2. Check your available voltage at the blower motor on the different settings. it should vary with high supplying 12volts, make sure to do this check with the blower motor still plugged in.

3. Connect the blower to a 12v power source and see if it runs at high speed.

If all else fails i would check your resistor pack, i would not suspect this because when it fails you usually just loose all speeds except for high, but it could happen.
