I need to test alpine iva d-300 to see if it works before i insta

i bought alpine iva d-300 from internet i recived head unit and brain box iwould like to see it work be fore i pay some one to install it so could you tell me what wires to connect to power and negative (for instance)the( foot brake) Wire goes where to ? (pos or neg) because at the moment i dont know if it works ***thank you for your help***
