You have a spyware issue, never click on those popups that claim to clean your PC, avoid porn and warez sites too, do a full reinstall of windows, deleting all partitions during the install. B4 doing that go to the device manager and write down all the exact drivers for the video, network, audio, modem, etc. make sure you can get the drivers for it and save them on a USB stick for after the new windows install is done. XP may have some already

Whats the best computer protection? i have NORTON 360

Best protection is to stay away from the p-rn sites and not go to sites with illegal contents or open e mail attachments from parties you do not know. U abide by that and 99.44 % of the time you will be safe. Virus programs exact a tremendous strain on a computer's hardware and slow the machine down tremendously. If you must use one, use the MS security program that works well and does not slow up the machine as much and is FREE.

You need everything in the hardware section, you can how ever go into the program section and remove any program that you do not need. you may also just need the computer cleaned up and checked for viruses.

Extremely slow boot it is slow opening windows slow doing everything it takes like 30 min or better just to get into windows xp

david_rplry8: i think the problem you face is due to less memory in ur pc or i could give u some more hints if u could b abit more detail in explaining ur problem.

Apart from that i can simply make out from the bits of explaination that u jst did, is that you r running low in memory and you definitely need to upgrade if u r interested in making ur PC work fast.

I CANNOT REMOVE WIN32/SALITY.V VIRUS CAN U HELP ME PLEASE

Hi, I presume yo do have an antivirus installed.
So to remove this type of Trojan/worm you need to:
  1. Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
  2. Update the virus definitions.
  3. Run a full system scan.
If you can't get the antivirus to detect it, 1st start you PC in "Safe mode" and run the antivirus full-scan from there.
To start the PC in "safe mode", when teh PC is booting (before the windows loading screen, press F8 to gte the menu to select "safe mode")

If you don;t have antivirus, download AVG free antivirus or visit Microsoft's OneCare site for a freescan & celan.. Do not install an antivirus based on ANY pop-up message you see on teh web.
Cheers,
Ed

Slow computer

Hi,

Have u got sufficient RAM to support all ur programs...Check with the Windows Task Manager (Right click on the Task bar) for the physical memory and page file usage in ur PC.

Using Task Manager itself...check whether any unknown process  like DC.exe, FUN.exe, etc., are running....OR...anyother process is running with more than 50% processor utilisation!

If any of the above symptoms are there, try changing to some other antivirus like Antivir OR Comodo and search for Malwares, and Viruses...

Bye

Have a nice day.

I hope ... this solves ur problem. :)
