The power keeps trying to turn on, fails and turns off. Everytime it tries to power i hear a click from the power board. I have opened it up and tried to narrow down which component is making the noise, but cant figure it out. I really like this monitor and would like to bring it back to life. Can anyone suggest how to start trying to figure out which component i need to replace?
Hello sir, the click you hear usually comes from a relay, the little black/blue square thing on the power board, when the load of the power supply is normal the relay swith on the entire monitor. if it detects an imbalance load usually shorts on the monitor, it shut down the circuit. so check for shorted IC regulator or transistors/diodes. if you have schematic diagrams, you can test the resistance of every IC on the board by locating the VCC and ground pin. (easier said than done). you may need patience to do this. until you find the shorted part. the next step is to remove the part and find a replacement. Try also to check on the internet usually ebay for power board replacement for your TV. hope this helps. = )
