My Canon Pixma will not print yellow or cyan on my mac?

In your user manual, look for cleaning process. Your printhead is probably clogged, and that is why yellow or cyan wont print. You must go trough process of cleaning or deep cleaning in your printer software preferences.

Im not sure for exact procedure on MAC but it should be something like this: go to system control panel, find there your printer and open it's preferences, there should be something like maintenance mode, and from there you should find cleaning or deep cleaning buttons.

If you cant figure it out, search for user manual online, Cannon has good user support and im 99% sure you will find out user manual for your printer. In user manual there is written exact procedure for cleaning your print heads.

Also make sure that your cartridges are not empty maybe?

Canon mx300 not recognize reffil cartridge color 51,

This cartridges has a memory chip and printer will recognized refill cartridges like empty. You can't reset the ink level on all Canon Pixma printers.Push resume button and hold it for 5 seconds. This operation releases the function for detecting the remaining ink level of the above ink.The printer shows empty cartridges but it will printing.
If this not help there is a minimum chance your cartridge is failed electrically and printer not recognized. In this case replace the cartridge.

MX300 alarm

You might try a hard reset of printer along with uninstalling and reinstalling the software for the printer.
If nada, you might give Canon a call and ask their techies for their feedback on situation.

Scan without ink

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud
