Go to control panel.......sytem.......hardware tab........device manger....dvd/cd devices.....find the one you are trying to use.....double-click it and go to the driver tab......go to update driver and follow the istructions from there. If it says there are no better drivers for your device then go to Dell and look for drivers for that hardware and download to your desktop and then install

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Dell XPS M1530 System does not read CD/DVD Drive after Windows XP installation . Can anyone help

If the LED is flashing when booting. Look for a pinhole on the drive and get a pn that fits on it, insert and push.This is the emergency eject.

check my computer if its there. If not follow this.
1. Run Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. Delete Upper and Lower Filters on the right hand side pane.
4. Exit and restart.

Please comment if the information has been helpful. Thank you and regards.

I've a DELLXPS M1530. I'm trying to eject a CD, wont come out

I do believe that there is still a small hole by that slot, that you can insert a straightened paper Clip into, and keep pushing until you feel/hear a slight, click, keep pushing gently and the disk should soon appear. IF you cannot do that the DVD will be removable by taking out the fasteners underneath the laptop,, and sliding the DVD out. for repair of replacement.

The cd is stuck in the lapptop, it does not come out when i press eject button. Dell xps M1530

Hi there.
Get a large paperclip and straighten it out.
It the CD/DVD has a flap that drops down, pull that down.
Look very close at CD/DVD you will a very small hole on the face of the CD/DVD (usually near the eject button) push the paperclip right in that hole to manually eject the tray.

Good luck
