Question about Honeywell Heating & Cooling
Ooking up a Honeywell rth7600 to a heat pump.
old wires (from ancient mercury tstat)
w2= white ,
e= blk and ialways seem to end up with an extra wire.
assuming that o,r,y and g arematching ....
b is then supposed to go to c.
aux = w2 (white),
e = e,
c = x orb
and i end up with both. ?? the manual then says to STOP EVERYthing and call a local contractor. ??
From what I'm seeing the 7600 is not compatible with a heat pump. Where are you landing the orange wire?

Blue (C) or sometimes (B) should be your common wire. Look at your schematics and locate common. Your Brown wire is (E) and is emergency heat, white wire (W) is Auxilary Heat, green wire (G) is fan relay, red wire (R) is power, yellow wire (Y) is Cooling and orange wire (O) is reversing valve.

W- White (heat)
Y- Yellow (condenser)
G- Green (Indoor fan)
C- Blue (Common 24v)
R- Red (24VAC)
O/B (Only needed if system is a heat pump)
