Re: AOL' S Favorite Places Listings

You should honestly reconsider using AOL all together you could find much more functional add-ons with FF and a lot less of a pain than AOL

Dell latitude e4300 does locks in the windows xp screen and the lock-9 sign on F4 is turned on. what do I do?

try booting to the safe mode, or last known good configuration (F8 At boot)
if you can get to either then maybe try a system restore to a time when the system ran correctly.
You can also run diagnostics by holding the Fn key while pressing the power button on a cold boot

How do you reset the latitude d505 to factory settings

How to reset the latitude d505 to factory settings:

If you have Windows XP,

Step 1: Backup everything that is important to you.
Step 2: Boot your computer using the Windows installable CD.
Step 3: Format your harddisk or repartition it.
Step 4: Install Windows XP using the installable CD.

Don't try this if you are not sure of what you are doing. It won't damage your laptop, but you might require a long time to get your laptop working again.

Lan connection has disappeared from network but wireless works

Have you run the Dell Diagnostics test? reboot the computer and hit the F12 key, scroll down to the diagnostic option and run the test, it will check hardware and memory etc.

Bios password protected

Hello sir

Please, go HERE and refer to item no. 8

You will need to contact Dell for the master password for that computer or use a 3rd party service who will charge you anywhere from $8.00US and up.

There are other options as well including replacing the firmware chip that holds the password. I even saw listings on eBay - services offering to reset Dell laptops' BIOS passwords.

Please, let us know if this response was helpful for your or, of course, if you have more questions, etc. on this topic.

I am afraid Dell did no plan Windows XP for Latitude C600 thus Dell has not made released certified drivers.

Generally, Windows XP SP2 should have most of the drivers built in. Reply if you have device(s) which lack drivers and I will get you the drivers at best effort.

Also, try Windows 2000 drivers. Normally it should work
