I have a dyson V6 cordless vacuum. When i pull trigger to start vacuuming, it revs up and stops, revs and stops. Is there a fix for this?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it can be due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

When I try to use my Dyson DC59 it won't start and blue lights on both sides of the battery start blinking. What does this mean?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

From what you've described, it sounds as if you may be using your DC59 set to Boost mode. This will provide 6 minutes of highest suction for really stubborn dirt, but for regular vacuuming normal mode should work effectively.

To switch back to normal mode, ensure your machine is fully charged (this will take a maximum of 3.5 hours), then hold down the on/off trigger, and at the same time, press the illuminated Boost button on the rear of the machine.

I have a Dyson DC16 handheld and the battery does not hold a charge.

I have the same vaccumm with the same problem, went back to exchange it and the same thing happened, I usually get about 10-15 minutes non stop out of the battery, I read that the battery memorizes the first charged time and then will only charge for that long. Did you happen to charge it 24 hrs?

My dc16 dyson root vacuum stopped working abruptly with no indication of a weak battery, the charger does not show a charge on battery. usually the vacuum slowed before it stopped with a dead battery,...

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Most Dyson vacuums have a built in safety system that stops the machine if it begins to overheat. This usually happens because the filter needs washing or your machine is blocked. If your machine turns off on its own, unplug it and leave it for at least an hour to cool down. Remember to check the filter and look for blockages before re-starting.

My DC16 will start and then stop. I have to take

My DC16 also had charging problems. I called Dyson and they sent a new charger. The old charger only produced 23.6 volts DC, not the rated 28 volts DC. The new charger has a thicker round wire and produces 28.1 volts DC. Put a volt meter on your charger terminals and see if it is producing enough voltage to fully charge the battery, 28 volt DC. If not you need a new charger.
