Hi I have a Bosch KAD62V70AU fridge and the freezer has stopped working. Do they have a drive belt or any easy faults that may cause this.

SOURCE: Zanussi fridge freezer - fridge not working

The defrost cycle is not happening like it should, that's what causes the block of ice (and poor air flow). If you have all that defrosted look at the defrost bi-metal, it usually is a small round disk with a couple wires coming out of it and it's clipped on the coils. When it's cold enough, it passes electricity to the heat elements, when it gets hot enough it "opens" and kills power to the heat elements. If that is bad (swollen cracked or bloated) and not passing electricity to the elements that's the problem. Another item would be the defrost timer itself, if it doesn't work (no clock motor turning) then it will never go into defrost. And the last and usually least expected failure would be the heat element themselves not working

SOURCE: E2 fault on Bosch kgu3201

Dear Sir,

It's a thermistor error, the internal evaporator one... but disconnect the fridge and freezer ones first in turn to see if the error changes. If it is the internal one, you should see an arrow impression on the paper covering the insulation which marks the spot to dig(at the back of the freezer.) Usually this error occur when water ingresses the push on tags, shorting out the thermistor.

Now the bonus... 9 times out of 10, you don't need to buy a spare, as there will probably be nothing wrong with the error giving thermistor. Remove and fit the fridge thermistor in the place of the internal one... clean and dry the internal one you removed and refit it inside the fridge.

You will need to repair the insulation with two pack brown foam insulation and foil tape. deffinately this solution solves your problem. If you have any problem regarding this issue post comment more information about the problem.we will glad to assist you

good luck.

good luck

Icing up in freezer where the ice is dispenced and goes into the tunnel to come out

It sounds like outside air is getting in through the ice door. I do not know this unit but the ice is usually generated from moist air. Check and make sure all door and flap seals are clean and sealing properly

Bosch Exxel KGV28323 fridge freezer. When door is shut the light goes dim but not completely off. Thinking a dodgy contact might be the cause. Have replaced the switch but no change. Have rcd fitted and...

Hi,

I thought the same with mine, but its supposed to, there is a switch near the thermostat, if you turn it off the light will go off when the door is shut, you are supposed to leave it on if the room the fridge is in is under 18 degrees, the heat off the dim bulb stabelises the temperature and keeps the freezer working

Hotpoint RFA52 fridge freezer

if you cant hear the motor/compressor running when energised then its likely to be a thermostat fault... but on energising the system if you hear a buzz then a click then its more seriously the main motor... turn off at mains for 5 mins then turn on... this should tell you either way

Bosch fridge freezer stops working after approx 8 hours. Starts OK and freezes OK but next day it's warming up. Turn it off and back on again and it starts all over again and the problem reoccurs..

Found a solution at

www.reviewcentre.com/vt100228_start50_orderasc.html

Short out the dark blue and the dark brown wires that lead into the temp control dial. Everything now works. This bipasses a dodgy thermister or something. Of course this might not solve all similar problems but it does seem a common fault.

Bosch Fridge, Freezer OK but Fridge won't cool

Well nobody came up with any other options so I guess it's just defrost a "nonfrosting" fridge every three months or so, just like the old days.
No progress here then in spite of advances? in technology.

Bosch fridge not cooling freezer fine

if back wall of freezer has ice or thick build up you may have a defrost problem or if not the evaporator fan motor could be bad, not moving cold air from freezer to refrigerator.

hi The drive belt (or belts) of a washing machine may become worn or damaged, causing noisy operation or stopping the washer entirely. A damaged drive belt is easy to replace. Remove the back panel of the washer to gain access to the belt.

Bosch Classixx fridge / freezer

Hi - experienced this myself and spent ages trying to get to the bottom of it - only found one post but it worked and was absolutely clear on the cause nb: i'm not an "expert" !

My understanding of how the Bosch f/f works is that the freezer compartment generates the cold air for the fridge which is regulared at the fridge end . At the back of my fridge there are two "vents" which feed up this cold air up from the freezer into the fridge.

Problem happened to me because I left the freezer door slightly ajar which generated a massive amount of frost (sucking in the moist air from the house I guess then freezing it) and subsequent ice froze up the cooling ducts between the freezer and the fridge. Therefore, no matter how much I turned up the fridge thermo it never got cool. Only solution was to dump my frozen at a mates house and defrost the the FREEZER for a good 24 hrs +.

Worked tho' - fridge was completely back to normal.

PS: I understand this issue may also happen if you put too much unfrozen food into the freezer at one go and in working overtime to get it frozen causing a massive frost up again.
