Usually it can be the motor relay which is on the control panel next to the switch. To trouble shoot the relay ,with a ohm meter, check for continuity across the coil of the relay, if infinite resistance, then it is bad and needs to be replaced. Let me know what you find.

Alright, sorry for taking so long

Next check the heating element, if it has infinite resistance it is bad and also check the motor for voltage going to it, if no voltage when trying to run the dryer, then I would say that the timer (dial) is bad and should be replaced.

I am assuming that the above no start happens on all different cycles

Well, the PCB is probably bad then and should be replaced. I don't believe www.repairclinic.com carries this model as I would advise you to order the part there and return it within the 30 days it gives you if replacing it wouldn't work. Otherwise you will need to go through the place you bought it.

Fisher paykel dryer ed56

Could be the door switch or temp sensor. To check the door switch put pressure against the door and see if it stops. Check the slot the door hits to see if there is anything loose in there.

F&P ED56 has 2 problems

Yes, (2) certainly sounds like the start/run capacitor has failed. You will see it has a split or bulging case, or a displaced end cap. Replace it with one of the same voltage rating and capacitance.

I can't advise you on (1)

Fisher & Paykel ED56 not working

Replace (repair) the exhaust sensor this looks like a transistor with the middle leg cut off. it is situated below the lint filter but can only accessed by removing the back panel, top panel (or rear screws to allow the removal of the drum). drum and then front panel to remove the connector from the mainboard. If you follow the exhaust tube once the back is off you will see a single phillips head screw that is the sensor. check the wires to the circuit board are not broken or dry joints or just replace it. sorry i had a spare machine i scavenged from to fix my problem so i dont know where to buy new.

Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

Diagnostic Mode
Entering the Diagnostic Mode
(a) Turn the power supply to the dryer on.
(b) Press and hold the Auto Dry down button, then press the Power
button.
The dryer is now in level 0 of the diagnostic mode. After initial entry into the
diagnostic mode, the Start/Pause button operates the dryer as normal. Press
the Auto Dry up or down buttons to scroll through the fault levels.
There are several levels of diagnostics, most of which are used in
development and production. These levels may bring on various LEDs, but
the level of use for the service technician is that of the last fault.
Last Fault
To enter the last fault diagnostics, enter the diagnostic mode as described
above, then press the Auto Dry up button three times. The last fault will be
displayed on the drying progress LEDs.
The manual is here

My fisher and paykel dryer ( mod# ED56 ) wont start, power is on

I had this same problem with my Dryer. It is making the few quick beeps because it thinks the door is still open. Near the bottom of the opening to the dryer there is a sensor switch that gets pushed in when you shut the door. Try holding the switch in with a knife or something and then start the dryer with the door open to check if that is the problem.
After i did this, i closed the door and my dryer started as normal.

Dryer tries to start - then stops and beeps PLEASE HELP

Check the exhaust hose. If the dryer isn't venting properly it will either stop or the heater will turn off and the clothes will remain wet. If the hose is not clogged check the wall vent tube.
