Hi. You need a new belt. If the belt is too loose it will slip. Try to take the wheel off and investigate. Put a little oil in/on the bearing as well. (2 and 1 oil).
If it is a direct drive you need to look at the electronics (motor and caps). You may need to take it to a shop for that if you are not a electronics expert. Good luck.

Turntable on my Jensen JTA-460 is slow. I have replaced the belt and made sure table was lubricated. No change. Can not find a way to adjust speed of table.

Check the belt is fitted correctly. If it is not it will affect the speed. If the speed is slow on both 45 and 33 rpm, then it could be the motor. Sometimes there are speed presetts at the none shaft end of the motor. If it doesn't look like the motor has any built in electronics in it, then look to the turntable power supply look for faults in that.

How can I fix the speed myself on a Steepletone ST918 record player ? 33rpm plays LP's at 45rpm !!!!

I am not familiar with this brand, but many turn tables adjust the speed using a rubber wheel and a turntable motor with different shaft sizes. The shaft is ground smaller in steps the further from the motor. As the rubber wheel is moved up the shaft, the slower the turn table spins. Most times you can lift the turntable up (may have a clip to hold it in place) and look to see if the wheel moves up and down on the shaft as you shift speeds.

Bosh 4000 table saw runs backward and at low speed

I've worked on some table saws with problems like you describe, a couple needed a new speed control unit (Bosch PN 2610997306) in the motor. If all the wiring to and inside the motor is OK and not shorting out anywhere, that's the next part you should look at.

THE SPEED SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE SLOW

On most turn tables there is a knob or a lever to adjust rotational speed. If it does not seem to have one then the motor is most likely out of sync and would need to be manually adjusted.

Motor turning at very slow speed.

It sounds like the field coil has failed and must be repalced. Those saws have a 1 yr warranty on them, even if its off warranty it is still cheaper to repalce the coil than the saw. Just find a Bosch service center in your area they can help you out.

Turntable is slow, especially noticable on 33 1/3 rpm

hi,
your turn table is a belt driven one. The speed turns down when the belt become expanded. you should replace the belt of your turn table. Also put some lubricant in its center shaft ( not from the top lubricate it slightly after removing the plater).

I have here added some video related to the replacement of belt for turntables.
Not the exact for your one,for all the belt driven turntable the procedure is the same
ok

I was cutting 2" dense foam insulation board,

The problem you have is a faulty field coil, the Bosch saws unfortunatly have a bit of an issue with this. The coil can be replaced separatly so you won't have to replace the whole motor. Bosch has a 1 yr warranty on thier table saw so this is a warranty replacment provided the saw was purchased within the year. If not the coil replacment is still cheaper than buying a whole new saw, but should really be done by a service center because of the level of difficulty of the repair.

I'm feeding 8/4 alder through the powermatic strait line saw

Sounds like the power feeder is not holding it secure at the end of the pass. Is the outfeed table running level to the saw table?
Just a wild guess, I'm afraid. I haven't used one myself.
The only time I've seen blades wobble like that was when they were light plates, undersized for heavy duty ripping operations. It's truly frightening to watch them overheat and turn to butter like that. I'd recommend getting a heavier plated saw blade if there's any question about yours.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
