Based on my personal experience it may be a bad fan. can you feel the fan running? or does it just feel hot near the vents?

ArghhhHHh! This is a solid-state unit meaning that it has no compressor! It uses a heat exchanger to cool the air through a plenum chamber. It's posssible that the temperature controller is faulty or the Peltier cell (heat exchanger) is bad.

SOURCE: THE UNIT DOES NOT COOL ANDY COLDER THAN ROOM TEMPERATURE.

does the compressor run ? if so you could have a low refrigerant charge, a sealed unit resrtiction, leak or defective compressor.

SOURCE: I have a Danby Kegerator

If adjusting the temperature control doesn't give any result, and it is staying at room temp, then most likely the Thermistor, and.or the Temperature controller, the Thermostat, has faulted, what you need to do, is first try replacing that temperate sensor, the Thermistor, if still no go then replace the temperature controller, ie: the thermostat.
It may be better in the long run to pop it into a Danby service center, contact Danby via the internet, and inquire where a repair center is, although most likely any refrigerator repair place will be able to effect a suitable repair, and ask for a "Quote" for any repairs.

Why does the unit keep on switching off after running for 2 minutes

Do not know what brand or model your aircon unit is? Sounds as if the temperature you want your unit to run at has already been reached. You need to follow these steps:
- select the temperature you want
- select the icicle icon for cool or thermometer icon for hot.
- select "auto" for your unit to cut in, or to cut off to keep your desired room temp.
For example - hot day 26 degrees and you want the temp in the room to drop to 19 degrees - the unit will shut off once it reaches 19 degrees if it is set to "Auto". Hope this gives you some clues to get it working. Please tick my this helped me box if my tips work. Good luck Gerri.

I cannot get my temp down to 58 but stays at 68

What is the BTU rating of the unit and what size space are you trying to cool down? Air conditioners move heat from one area to another. Possible reasons for not achieving the temperature you want are 1) the air conditioner you are using is too small to cool the size room you have or 2) the space where you are trying to exhaust the hot air from the air conditioner is too hot to allow your air conditioner to move enough heat out of the room you are trying to cool.

When the environmental temperature is lower than the set range, the display will indicate "LO".
Lowering the temperature you have it set on, should resolve the problem.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have an LG AC and the lowest temperature setting is 60 degrees

Lowering the temperature setting doesn't change the temperature of the air coming out of the unit it just lets it run until the room temperature gets colder. Check the temp of the air coming out of the unit. If it isn't as cold as it used to be the charge could be low. First though you should make sure the filters are clean and the coils. You should also check the actual room temp. It's also possible the unit doesn't have enough capacity to keep up with the cooling load of the room.

the unit runs all the time because of the fan (ventilation motor)-but it is not working on cooling or heating all the time - The ventilation motor pushes the air from the room through the machine and when the termostat is reading that you set it up for cooler air or warm air it will turn on the air conditioning part or the heating part of the machine-it is very good system actually

Samsung window unit air conditioner model # AW2402M freezes up one time, and the next time freezes you out of the room. What is wrong with it, Termistat or compressor?

Try to set the thermostat to higher temperature and monitor if the compressor will turn " off " when the room temp. is cool, and turn " on " when the room temp. is high. If does not work then your thermostat is defective. Continue running of compressor with very cold room temp. can build up ice in the unit. The compressora73b784.jpg should shutdown when setting temp. will attain.
