Question about Garden

My Poulan 3050 will usually crank when cold but, if you cut it off after it warms up or it goes dead, it will not restart. I have changed the air filter and cleaned the plug. Sometimes cleaning the plug will restart it. Any advice?

If you have not changed the plug I recommend that you purchase a new one as they usually are only good for a season or two depending on usage and fuel mixtures

Check the condition of the fuel line and fuel filter in the fuel tank. The fuel line tends to go bad over time, and if it has any cracks or holes in it, it will cause the symptoms you describe. It's a good idea to replace the fuel line and the fuel filter every couple of years.

Our AC keeps cutting out. It runs for a few minutes then stops. have to switch off and restart. Any idea why? Have emptied water and cleaned filter recently

Look for:
  1. the ac needs air flow thru the indoor and outdoor radiators
  2. the outdoor radiator coil should get warm/hot and produce warm air.
  3. indoor radiator coil needs should get cold and produce cold air.
The ac needs the fan motor(s) working and compressor running and pumping. Compressor skinny copper line hot and thick line cold.

Warm starting problem

Check your alternator. It does more than just charge the battery. If it is not working properly the fuel pump and injectors will stop thinking the car has been in an accident.

I would say the problem is the coil. Normally when a coil goes bad they don't work at all but not always. If you know someone that has a timing light you could check for spark to the spark plugs when it goes dead. When the coil warms up it expands and can break connection of the wire with in the coil. I have had this proplem on my chevy pickup and it turned out to be the coil.

I changed cam phasers and runs great when cold. When it warms up it stalls at stop lights and gets difficult to restart

have vechicle code scanned bad engine coolant temperature sensor will cause vechicle to stall out and hard to crank when cold.

Starts then cuts off and won't restart

Hello; This is likely a carb problem or clogged fuel line or fuel filter if it has one. If it runs for awhile before cutting out, check your gas cap. They all have some sort of vent to let in air as the fuel level goes down. If the vent is clogged, the carb can only **** out the gas for seconds or a few minutes. john

Ac goes from cold to warm shut off the ignition and it works again for awhiile then goes warm again

How long does it run for before going warm?
What is the outside air temp?
Does it do the same thing whilst parked?
Does it ever cut back in on it's own [wait a few mins] or do you always have to turn the ignition off?

Some possibilities:
The over-pressure cutout is operating.
Can be caused by the condensor [in front of the radiator] becoming blocked up with to much rubbish restricting air flow, or the a/c auxillary fan [usually in front of the condensor] is not cutting in which could be a bad motor or refrigerant pressure switch is not operating.

Another is that there's a refrig, gas leak and enough gas has escaped so as to cause the low pressure switch to stop the compressor.
When the a/c is first turned on, there is enough pressure for the compressor to run, but as it runs, the low side goes too low and cuts out the compressor.

if it shuts off after running for a while and will not restart for about 10 min,a bad crank sensor will cause this. abad crank sensor will make car shut off and not restart for about 10 min. put a scanner on to make sure. a check engine light does not allways come on. if you do not have a scanner, any auto parts store will scan it for free.
