My light will come on if I manually turn them on,

My lights will come on if I manually turn them on, but are not coming on when I set them or if they do they stay on for hours at a time until I turn them off manually. Why won't they go off as set. Unit is 4 years old ml 600 . I have tested outdoor outlet that is fine.

2007 Chevy Uplander. Tonight the lights did not come on automatically (turned them on manually) and no dashboard "back" lighting.

Predicated that the light switch that controls your dashboard back lighting was not set to its dimmest setting, and the fact that the sentinel did not automatically turn on your head lights, indicates a problem in the switch that controls the headlights, interior lighting, and dash lights.
I would however check all my fuses before going out and buying a new switch assembly; I would also check the photo sensor as well.

How do I fix there are no interior lights 1999 Chevrolet cavalier

If changing the interior light controls to make sure the lights come on (it could be set too low or even turned off~ check your car manual to see how to adjust these settings) you could have a blown fuse. I'd check your manual on your car's fuse box location and then check to see if you have any blown fuses.

It sounds like the day running lights are coming on, not the headlights. If I'm right, the lights would come on when you put it in gear. Other models will come on at engine start. If it is the running lights, not the headlights, you can check by setting the parking brake. This turns off the running lights, but not the headlights. Verify this, and I think you will be happy to find there is nothing wrong. Good luck!

Check your overhead switch. There is a setting for 'door' and 'off' (I believe). If it is switched to door, when you unlock the vehicle and/or open the door the lights will come on. If it is set in the off position they will not come on unless you manually turn them on.

possible multifunction switch gone bad for turn signal problem. do headlihgts come on in a dark setting on automatic or not? if they don't come on when it is dark then most likely bad light sensor in top of dash or maybe unplugged if recent dash work has been done.

I have a intermatic ej351c indoor wall switch programmable timer that I have tried several time to program an on time for the lights to come on however the lights does come on. I have followed the...

There might be a couple things that are easy to overlook.

Press the button to see if lights come on >>> if light do not turn on with manual override, then light might be burned out or circuit breaker tripped. Sometimes a breaker is tripped but you can't tell by looking at it

1) The timer is used on incandescent bulbs only. I don't know why, but it says no
  • Compact Florescent
  • Energy Saver
  • Flood lights
  • Halogen
  • Mercury Vapor
  • Christmas lights
  • Candelabra bulbs
2) Is the red indicator light ON?
For programs to work, timer has to be in automatic mode and the red indicator light will be ON
The Switch Timer can be used in two modes. manual & automatic
To switch between modes, quickly press the dial twice:
AUTOMATIC MODE: The Switch Timer will turn your lights ON or OFF according to programmed settings. The RED indicator light stays ON when in Automatic Mode.

MANUAL MODE: Programmed settings are inactive, and
the Switch Timer will only turn the light ON or OFF when
you push on the dial.
RED indicator light stays OFF when in Manual mode.

3) setting current time> lets look at the red indicator light while doing this
Move switch lever to OFF-Clear
Move lever to ON >>> red indicator is flashing
Rotate dial to nearest current time (if it's 7:20 pm, rotate dial to 7:30pm)
Press the dial once to set current time > red indicator light goes off
Do not accidentally press dial or it will set the wrong time....ok we know that

4) overlapping programs/
Make a chart of the times you want to program with ON and OFF plus am & pm
Check your chart for overlapping times that tell the timer to do more than one thing

Rotate dial clockwise to the first ON time >> pay attention to am & pm
Press button and first ON time is set
Rotate dial clockwise to the first OFF time >> watch the am and pm
Press button and first OFF time is set
You can have 48 on-off times >>> which seems a lot for a 24 hour repeat timer

5) try the timer with one program

6) If timer still doesn't work, put switch back in and see if lights turn on that way >>> it could be a loose wire suddenly cropped up

Last step >>> timer is no good, you need another one. We tried.

I have the EJ351 model and when it is programmed the lights come on at the desired time; but it never turns the lights off. Manually it works fine and turns the lights on and off.

http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/in-wall%20timers/ej351c.aspx
See the manual

I think you forgot to set the OFF time that corresponds with the ON time, or your on-off times conflict with each other

Make a chart of you on off times

Clear programming
After setting present time,
Rotate dial clockwise to first ON time, push button in to set ON time
Rotate dial counterclockwise to first OFF time, push button to set OFF time

Repeat this up to 8 times >>> but don't overlap your ON-OFFs

Did this ever work before, or is this a new installation? Assuming this is a new installation, it's 90% likely to just not be wired correctly. The hot wire needs to come into the switch and into the clock (with a jumper wire). The neutral needs to come into the clock, and back out to the light (two white wires on one terminal). The output hot wire comes out from the switch to the light. Being a double pole switch, that will leave one input and one output not used on the switch.

Manual override no longer turns lights on/off

This sounds wrong. Normally Red would go to Live, Black to Neutral and White would go to the light but without more details of the model it's a guess
