Question about GE Kitchen Ranges
My oven preheated to 400 degrees and baked for about 10 minutes and shut off. This is my first time even cooking with my oven and it was bought used.

your correct the only difference between a regular oven and a convection oven is that it has a fan.when you open the oven door the fan should be spinning to a stop if this is not the case you may have a problem with the fan.

Put a thermometer in the oven to see how the temp is vs what you set it at. If temp is off by more than 25 degrees replace the oven sensor. This is a lock switch error code. Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch. If the switch cannot be re adjusted, it must be replaced.

18 mins from room temp to 350 is factory standard,
you may need to calibrate the range, most now adays come factory set at -25 degrees for safety
depending on your model number in your instruction manuel should be a part about recalibrating it sounds like your about 25 degrees off
