Question about Facebook Social Network

I can't login to Facebook because IE errors out and must close

I believe a virus is preventing me from logging into Facebook through Internet Explorer. I was getting a virus alert while playing Word Twist (hard to close out) and I don't think my anti-virus is recognizing the installed virus to remove it. IE will just close out after Facebook login is entered and it appears to be loading. I've read of the Word Twist virus issue and that others are experiencing this problem as well.

Thanks Trikha - I've tried those already and no go. Tried system restore and MS updates and some alternate addresses to get into Facebook. Nothing so far.

Hear is what I tried so far to fix this problem using IE8:

    1. Downloaded Malwarebytes and scanned computer - result was the identification of a number of adware and a few viruses not picked up by other systems, but no affect on the problem.

    2. Cleared browsing history - no affect.

    3. Used login site; results: I could view my home page and get to my inbox but all other options resulted in IE kicking me out.

    4. Used m.facebook mobile logon; results: could do a few things, no applications, and view was of course poor.

    5. Added all facebook sites to Trusted Sites. No affect.

    6. Turned scripting off once online using F12 key - Disable - Script. Results: Could view all pages and applications seemed to work, but could not post to wall or other's wall, view friends, or chat.

    7. Installed all MS Windows updates - no affect.

    8. Disabled and uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flashplayer - no affect, except other stuff doesn't work know although I restored and reinstalled.

    9. Made sure the MywaySA files were no on my computer.

    10. Changed the login site adding "s" to "http" - no affect.

    11. Installed Safari and Firefox: Results? YES!! Facebook will work under either service - all is functional.

Scan your system for viruses with Malware bytes which you can download from

Or you can also use Hijack this for browsers

Don't forget to optimize your internet explorer

Like deleting all the browsing history etc.

and also check the restricted zoned and see if that facebook site is not listed there

Or you can upgrade you IE if you have IE8 than uninstall it.

I am trying for facebook login but i am not getting the result pleas help me

HI, What is the error when you log in to Facebook? There are a lot of possible issues for your problem. The access on the browser that you are using needs to reset to default settings. For IE 7 8 9 - go to tools - Click on internet options - click on the advanced tab - click on reset - restart Internet explorer
You should be able to able to use Facebook again. Thank you for using Fixya.

My wife and I share 1 computer to access Facebook, each of us have a different password and address. For the past few days when we go on-line it alwqys goes to her account and I am not able to access my...

It could be because she has "keep me logged in" check. That is why it goes straight to her account. If you are using Internet Explorer (IE), you might need to clear saved passwords, by going to Tools, internet options, and browsing history to delete it, and close IE, and relaunch it, go back to facebook, and you should be able to login. Good luck. Don't forget to rate me.

When trying to login to facebook, after entering my user ID and password and clicking log in, it redirects me to another login page instead of logging me in. I am running IE 9 with Nortons 360

Sounds like you are being directed to a Phishing site due to a virus or malware; do a virus/malware scan on your PC. Also, try going to, which is the secure version; and shouldn't allow a redirect if you do not have malware.

Check the address bar to make sure you're not being phished (directed to a fake page to steal your login credentials).

Reset your password, and login again.

I cant not go to my facebook

If you could go to the login page, but you cannot log in to Facebook, you need to access first the e-mail that is associated with your Facebook and verify that the user name and password is correct.

If you could log in to your e-mail, but not in facebook, then try to clear the cookies and cache of your internet browser.

If you're using Internet Explorer, follow the steps below:

1. Open your IE > Tools.
2. Internet options > click the "Delete" button under the browsing history.
3. Select the cookies, internet files and history > OK.
4. Close and re-open your IE.

If the same problem occur, try different browser like Firefox, to verify if there's a problem with your facebook account.

Good luck!

Cannot log intomy facebook account on my laptop what i' do to log

Facebook creates such problem with everyone//
uninstall internet explorer 8 from your computer and then restart your computer. internet explorer 7 will get installed automatically.
follow this few step
xp comp:start/run/inetcpl.cpl/advanced/reset/close/apply/ok
vista and win 7 comp:- start/start search/inetcpl.cpl/advanced/reset/close/apply/ok
then try logging to face book. it should work for you.
sometime its also possible if the computer has virus and it redirects the website or does not allow you to login to sites like facebook.
in this case you will have to remove the virus from the computer.
