SOURCE: my framing nail gun won't

Time for oring kit # d518005 available at Dewalt service center or at www.toolpartsdirect.com.
May as well order the replacement trigger valve while there. These two items will renew your gun. Good luck

New trigger valve leaked air and gun won’t fire. I have replaced the trigger valve twice and the problem is the same on both new valves. Porter cable FR350a.

I find that the trigger valves in these guns are reliable and that most problems with random fire is lack of lubrication and adjustment of the safety foot. Assuming that air does not leak when you connect air supply and leaks from trigger when attempting to fire. This indicates a lack of lubrication of the head valve. Remove the head valve and lube with white grease.
Test the gun, of ok then you are done. If no joy, then check safety foot for adjustment. How to test if the safety foot is the problem.
Remove the nails, remove the trigger leaving exposed the trigger firing pin. Adjust air supply to 100 psi and connect to gun.
Assuming no leaks quickly depress the trigger valve pin all the way in. If the gun fires then the problem is with the safety foot and or the actual trigger is not pushing the firing pin all the way in when attempting to fire. Make adjustments accordingly. Good luck with your repair.

My new porter cable RN175B nail gun won't discharge a nail

If the trigger is set to single fire, you will need to place the gun against the work then pull trigger as you have done. Try setting the trigger to bump fire and try again. If hear a thump inside the gun, remove the head and check that the head valve in not stuck from lack of lubrication. Easy test, remove the nails, remove trigger pin, remove trigger and manually push trigger firing valve. If the gun fires then suspect faulty trigger or safety arm not lifting enought to activate the trigger valve. Good luck

The gun won't work right

As a safety precaution, nailers have incorporated a safety foot that will prevent the gun from firing unless you push down hard. Some guns also have a system where the gun will not fire at all if there are no nails in the gun. To dry fire this type of gun you must pull back the pusher or open the side door. If nails do not feed properly, check for wrong nails, bent rails or weak pusher spring. If all is good with rails and pusher, suspect that the driver/piston is not at top of cylinder and lower part of driver blade is preventing nails from advancing. Remove airline and push the driver to top and retest. If driver is slipping down the cylinder under its own weight, replace oring. Good luck

Gun is full of nails, but acts like it is empty (the plunger won't advance). You go to tap it with the trigger pulled, and it just does nothing. Seems like firing pin is not getting air or somet

If no air is leaking from the gun, take out the nails, remove trigger by removing 3mm hex head bolt to expose the trigger pin. With air connected and side door open so that you can see the feeder, quickly depress the trigger pin with finger. Gun should fire. If gun does not fire (only makes air sound at trigger) dissconnect airline, remove head and lube headvalve with white grease and reinstall. Test again. If ok replace trigger. If still no joy, replace trigger valve with new factory or generic (part # TVA6). If gun fires but does not activate the feeder claw, remove two 6mm hex bolts from front of gun and split apart upper and lower body and check white oring (part # 149885) Good luck

My nail gun won't fire nails and is blowing It

Stop using it and take it in for service. If it is leaking air then an o-ring or seal may have failed (most likely guess) and it needs to be replaced.
