SOURCE: dishwater fills with water, hot...but doesnt wash?

when in the wash phase, listen for a low hum near the wash pump. if you hear this it indicates the wash pump capacitor is faulty or something jammed in the pump.after that you will have to access the wash pump and check if there is any supply to it

SOURCE: Dishwasher drain hose.

Its ok to hook to the sink drain but an air gap should be inline with it to prevent sink water from backing into the dishwasher.

SOURCE: I need to replace the

Hi,

I figured it out my self. I have to say however I am a bit disappointed in your web site. It seems to me that if you need any help you need to pay for it so I guess I will stick with the other trouble shooting sites I work with now which are free. If anyone wants to know how I replaced the detergent dispenser on my Miele G868 U (part cost 158 saved 265 in installation / tech charges) just post me a message and I will tell you how it is done (No Charge). This trouble is closed fixed by my self

Cheers,
Mitch

SOURCE: Miele G868 dishwasher - leaks from front panel air vent

Hi all,

I have had the same problem. Here is what I've done. Take the door apart (a whole bunch of screws on the side of the door). The front panel will come off and you will see a rubber tube. Take it off and blow it out. Then take the blower out (you need to unscrew the inside of the blower). Take apart the blower and clean it out.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Miele G868 Dishwasher is dead, won't even turn on

I had a similar problem. Check the control knob that turns the machine on. At this age, it sounds like the control knob is either bad or a wire has burned off. Check to see if their is an internal fuse in the washer.

There is no water that seems to go to the Miele dishwasher. After the cycle the dishes are as dirty as when they were in. Checked the filter, wanes-no problems.

Please provide the full model number of the dishwasher.

You need to check if water actually fills the dishwasher. Keep a cup right side up on the top shelf and run he dishwasher. At end of cycle check how much water is in the cup.

I have a Miele dishwasher that has a small leak by the intake hose which is connected to the water supply. How can this part be repaired or must it be replaced

The inlet hose to a miele dishwasher has a box on the end of it, and a brass garden hose thread fitting on the end of it. Inside this brass fitting is a black rubber garden hose washer. I have never seen the hose break. Are you sure it is not leaking from the washer or maybe missing the washer altogether? It is expensive to get the hose replaced.. 200+ for the hose and 175 for the service call. the dishwasher has to come out and be turned on its side to replace it.

F13 error code on Miele dishwasher. I can't find

The water valve on Miele dishwashers is built into the end of the water line where it hooks into your plumbing(in that box-looking assembly) Your best bet is to call Miele USA, I have had very good luck with their customer support system, they can usually diagnose your problem right over the phone.

Do these 'portable' dishwashers 'heat' water prior to washing? i have customer complaining bout the dishes not coming clean..yet the water entering the dishwasher is cold, does not appear to heat water...

Most dishwashers require a minimum 120 degree inlet water temp. The heating element will boost this up during the main wash cycle to aprox 140. Do not hook a dishwasher up to inlet water temps above 150.

Miele Dishwasher G892SCU Plus Intake/Drain light keep flashing

Hello RD,
Every Miele dishwasher is designed to drain water in the first 30 seconds of any cycle. Does your intake/drain light come on at all? Miele technical services can troubleshoot the fault code if you do get an intake/drain light.
The most common issue I have seen is that the dishwasher drain line is clogged.
Solution - Try checking the airgap at the top of your sink, if nothing there then check the end of the drain line usually connected to the garbage disposal if you have one. I would reccomend disconnecting the end of the drain line and putting it into a bucket. Let the dishwasher run for 30 seconds and if it drains then its a problem with your garbage disposal. If not I would contact Miele technical support to troubleshoot the fault code

Good luck

Glasses that become cloudy after a few washes. The temperature is never above 55.

hi
Dishwashers usually run on 115-volt or 120-volt power. The water they use comes directly from the water heater, and wastewater is drained into the sink's drainpipe. The dishwasher is not connected to the cold-water supply. For best dishwashing results, set the temperature control of the water heater to no less than 140 degrees Farenheit. Water cooler than this usually doesn't get the dishes clean, unless your dishwasher is a newer model that preheats incoming water. The water shutoff for the dishwasher is typically located below the adjoining sink.

Remove and check the "non-return valve" and make sure it's clean. It snaps out and in easily. See page 47 of the manual for this dishwasher.

Salt indicator light comes on?

Check the instructions which are freely available from www.miele.co.uk or the relevant site for your country. Browse to the current models and you should find the PDF for your model. For non-current models, instructions are under the link "Customer Support".

In general, the instructions are as follows:
If the water in your area is very soft and constantly lower than 0.7 mmol/l (4 °d) you do not need to add dishwasher salt. The water softener must, however, still be programmed to correspond to the water hardness level in your area. (The salt indicator light will still come on, but should be ignored).

Important: Before filling the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt for the first time, you must fill it with approx. 2 litres of water to enable the salt to dissolve. Once the dishwasher has been used, there is always sufficient water in the reservoir.

Inadvertently filling the salt reservoir with powder or liquid dishwasher detergent always leads to serious damage to the water softener. Make sure you have picked up the correct packet of dishwasher salt before filling the salt reservoir!

Only use special coarse grained dishwasher salt for reactivation. Do not use other salts such as cooking salt, agricultural grade or gritting salt. These may contain insoluble additives which can impair the functioning of the water softener.

To refill:
* Remove the lower basket and unscrew the salt reservoir cap.
* Fill the reservoir with approx. 2 litres of water (first use).
* Place the funnel provided over the salt reservoir and carefully fill with salt until the reservoir is full. The salt reservoir holds approx. 2 kg of salt depending on the brand used.

As the salt reservoir is filled, displaced water will overflow.
* Clean any excess salt from around the reservoir opening and then screw the cap on again firmly.
* Run the "Pre-wash" programme immediately to remove any traces of salt water from the cabinet.

For the Miele, the salt reservoir is usually under the bottom basket, the cap is usually grey in colour. [Only the latest models have the refill cap in the door itself].

You should be able to find dishwasher salt just about anywhere, I've even found it in Malaysia, sold at good ol' Tesco!! Brands of salt include Calgonit (Finish) & Somat.
