Some have. If you disconnect the power adapter and still have a light then, it only means it has a back up battery.

How do i re-enable the wifi in my pc

You state that your wifi "router" will not connect to the internet. That is not inside your computer. The router is the cable modem or dsl modem that transmits the internet in your house. Depending on how it is setup, you may have a second device that separately sends a wireless signal out. The best thing to try first is to turn each device off for 10 seconds and then restart. Some modems have battery backups, so be sure to pull the battery if that is the case to ensure a complete power off. Then restart and see if you have your internet back. This fixes 75% of the issues in this situation.

Where does the sim go in a compaq presario cq56

Hi tefordgal12,
I see you have a SIM that you want to use on your compaq system, I checked in you system specs online and it does not show that it has a 3g modem on it on the issue.
  • On all Laptops the 3g modem can be found inside the system, if you remove the battery you may see a slot for a sim card in the battery bay.
  • All Laptops have the 3g modem in the battery but not all Laptops have a 3g modem installed on it some may have sim slots but does not have the 3g modem installed in it
  • Call HP regarding this concern since they can answer our question most accurately if you give them the serial number of your Compaq Laptop.

I hope that the information I provided helps.
Thanks, have a great day.

The only light that is blinking is the internet light and the modem cannot be turned off with the off switch.

To my understanding to reset this particular modem is to either
A) unplug the power cord / unscrew coaxil (cable wire)

or

B) If there is a battery light you need to remove battery from battery compartment.for 30-60sec and put it back in....

C) small pin hole on back of modem use a paperclip or sharp point and hold down for 10sec.

Where isw the cmos battery

it's inside the computer, it's a small round, flat, silver battery similar to those in watches and tons of other devices. It stores the clock time when the computer is shut off. You will need to take apart the laptop carefully in order to get to it. Is your clock getting reset everytime you turn it back on? Then yes you will need to replace the battery.

I have a tm502g modem and it keeps disconnecting from the internet at various intervals. It will connect for awhile than it disconnect. After it disconnects I have to turn my computer off and unplug the...

The 502 cannot be reset by unplugging it. It has a battery. There is a reset right in the middle on the back. There is a pinhole and you push a toothpick or unrolled paperclip inside the hole and it resets. There are a couple of issues here. Does the EMTA (modem) turn off and reset, knocking you off or does your computer go off while the modem is fine (you will still have phone). If you still have phone then you have another problem. You have a router or a bad ethernet cable. If the modem is going offline I bet you have a splitter on the coax coming into your house. One lead from the splitter goes to your tv and the other your modem. If that is happening it is your splitter. It isnt bad, you just want to re-seat your cables into that splitter. Just undo them, push them in and out of the splitter a few times and your modem will go back online for another year or so

is that a question? There are no plugs in a modem, unless you are using a very old external modem. You need to be more specific.
