If it is a quartz watch more than likely it just needs a battery. If it is a citizen eco-drive it may need sunlight as it is solar powered.

I left my timex solar watch in my watch case too long - and it stopped working. How do I repower the watch. (I have had it out in sunlight for a couple of days).

I am thinking you need a new battery. It appears to be a battery operated watch that runs on solar power IF there is light.

How long will a Timex Solar watch last?
The solar movement functionality creates an environmentally-friendly and maintenance free timepiece that can be charged through indoor fluorescent light or outdoor sunlight. Once fully charged, the battery life can reach two months. If worn daily, there is very little chance the watch will stop.

Fossil twist

If you do not wind the watch, and if it is electronic it obviously has a battery. Very possible even with a new watch the battery has run out. This is especially if the watch was sitting for about a year in their inventory before you bought it.

I am not sure if your watch has a kinetic type movement where it charges the watch, or it is purely an electro-mechanical type movement. I did read it has a quartz referenced movement for the mechanical balance wheel. This would certainly involved a battery. If changing the battery is not the fix you would have to send the watch for service.

How it works invicta clock mechanism ?

Your watch is battery powered or a 'quartz' watch. It is commonly refered to as a 'chronograph'. That is another word for stop watch. As well as telling time and the date, your watch can time how long an event lasts. For example, a horse race. You start the chronograph or stop watch when the horse starts and stop it when it crosses the finish line. When the next horse starts you need set it back to zero to time the next race.Operation is simple. The upper push button starts and stops the chronograph. Try it. Now with the chronograph stopped, push the bottom button. The hand return to the 12 o'clock position or the 'zero' position. Also notice the small dials on the dial or face of the watch. They record minutes and other increments of time. The large hand going around when you push the upper button is recording seconds. Hope this helps, Michael

I have to set it everytime i put it on. it good when i wear it. is it the battery?

What make and model watch do you have?

(is your watch automatic? if it is, then these only run for 2-3 days at most before stopping and need to be used daily to maintain their operation.)

Second hand stops for a few seconds and then starts again over and over again

Try manually winding it (assuming it's not a quartz watch). If a mechanical watch is not worn daily it will run down and need to be manually wound to get going. Turn the crown clockwise about 40 turns.

My watch has stopped

Hi.

Go to a shop and ask to replace the battery.
Even if the battery can be replaced at home, using tweezers to remove the back plate, replacement must be done by a technician at the shop. If you have not done this operation before, it is very easy to mount the seal incorrectly, compromizing the watch integrity.

Regards.

My britling watch is not working!!! it has just stopped..

It could be that the battery has run out (is it a battery operated watch?)

If it is battery operated then you could either take it to a local authorized dealer or send it to a service center.

You can find their address on the web site "http://www.breitling.com/en/index.php#/home/"

I have gone through 3 different watches, 2 fossils and one Bulova. All of them would just stop after a couple of months. I would replace batteries, then they would stop again. Is there any truth to the...

This is not a myth, but reality. Every living thing has it's own electric field and so do the humans. The difference is in density of that field - some has stronger, some weaker. And this is the cause of fast battery discharge and mciromotor stoping. Very few people has this field so dense, that the battery driven watch stops as soon as this person touches the watch. Most common is the case when the wearer of the watch needs to replace watch battery very frequently,so, I suggest you are one of them.
Consider of buying an automatic mechanical watch (spring driven). These watches are more expensive then their battery driven counterparts, but they can last for generations if looked after.
Do not buy kinetic or solar powered watches as you will expierence the same struggle as with battery driven watch.
