Hi,

Try this:

click on start, control panel, hardware and sound.

Click on manage sound devices and click the recording tab.

Make sure you have a tick on the mic you want to use and double click on it.

Make sure it says" Enabled" in the device usage box, then click on levels.

There should be 2 sliders, one is the volume of the mic and the other is microphone boost make sure the Microphone volume is near or at 100

It not too good using microphone boost but you may need to use it a little, if you set it too high you will get the horrible feedback screech.

I hope that helps..

Mike

Why does my computer tell me my cou1 mic has malfunctioned everytime I plug it into the usb port?

Sounds like a defective mic. Test it on another computer, with another USB cable, and if it still doesn't work, call customer service and they'll send a replacement.

Computer wont recognize the microphone on the turtle beach x4

Can you try using the X1 mic on your PC? Green plug to green jack, pink plug to pink jack, USB plug to USB port. Talk into the X1 mic. Can you hear your voice? If yes, then you probably have a bad chat-controller cable. If no, then your X1 mic may not be working. If that's the problem, you should contact Turtle Beach tech support for help. support@turtlebeach.com.

Rockband mic stopped working, replacement doesn't work either

I forgot that you had to plug in a controller for the mic. Just plug in any standard ps2 controller and it should register the mic.

Check the "levels" in the game.
Go to "Options" -> "Audio and Video", and try turning the mic volume up.  It's likely that if it doesn't work in or out of the hub, that the in-game volume for the mic is turned down too low.

Acknowledging Microphone

Sounds like the mic is bad. The only way to confirm this is to plug a different mic into the computer and see if that works. If the second mic gives no sound then the computer may have an issue. Hope this helps.
